Fire responses: 12:53 a.m. 1700 block of Encinal Avenue, outside odor investigated, but not found; 10:46 a.m. 200 block of Corpus Christi Road, small debris fire next to play struc-ture. Firefighters used a pre-connected hose line to extinguish the fire, salvag-ing the play structure. Crewmembers notified Alameda Police Department (APD); incident is under investigation; 12:42 p.m. 300 block of Sunset Road, residential fire alarm.

Fire responses: 3:07 a.m. 400 block of Buena Vista Avenue, apart-ment fire alarm; 11:53 a.m. 1100 block of Harbor Bay Parkway, smoke inside a business office. There was no fire. An electrical short was causing the smoke. Crewmembers turned off the power, ventilated residual smoke from the office and advised the owner to contact an electrician to make repairs. 2:35 p.m. 900 block of Park Street, commercial fire alarm; 7:42 p.m. 2400 block of Shore Line Drive, Dumpster fire inside an apartment garage. Crewmembers used a pre-connected hose line to extinguish the fire. No property was damaged; cause is unknown.

Fire responses: 7:28 a.m. Park Street, block number not given, citi-zen assist; 3:12 p.m. Alameda Avenue, block number not given, oil spilled on sidewalk. Crewmembers used absorbent to contain and remove a small amount of oil from the walk-way. 3:25 p.m. 700 block of Eagle Avenue illegal burning of yard debris in back yard of residence, crewmem-bers extinguished the smoldering
debris and informed resident of the city’s no-burning ordinance. 6:59 p.m. Aughinbaugh Way, block number not given, Dumpster next to a storage shed was on fire. Firefighter’s arrived and extinguished the smoldering debris with a pre-connected hose line. There was no fire beyond the trash bin. No property was damaged. The fire’s cause is suspicious, and the incident was reported to APD.
