 Time to move from Wi-Fi to Li-Fi

A few weeks ago we talked about the ‘Internet of Things.’ This time we are going

to tell you about Li-Fi whih will !lay a very essential role in turning ‘Internet of

 Things’ into reality.

Li-Fi "Light Fidelity# whih ame from the word $Light% is wireless ommuniation

tehnology fairly similar to Wi-Fi. This term was &rst introdued by 'arald 'aas( a

!rofessor of )niversity of *dinburgh. Li-Fi uses visible light waves that we get

from our everyday L*+ bulbs instead of radio waves whih is used by Wi-Fi.

 The best thing about Li-Fi is that it an deliver internet aess more than ,

times faster than the traditional Wi-Fi that we used these days. Its s!eed an

 The reason that it an ahieve suh enormous s!eed is beause it utili/es light.

Light an transfer data at a muh faster rate and also in a onentrated area.

 The data is transferred through very subtle and 0uik hange in fre0ueny of the

light whih is undetetable to human eye.

Another advantage of it is that it will !rovide a higher degree of !rivay as visible

the light.

Li-Fi also uses ine3!ensive L*+ bulbs so it will also be very easy to turn the Wi-Fi

hots!ots into Li-Fi hots!ots and it will also onsume less energy than Wi-Fi

making it muh more energy-e4ient system.

5ery reently this internet aess system was ommerially tested in the

*stonian a!ital Tallinn with great suess. They were able to ahieve s!eed of ,
