Explain that the Equator is an imaginary line on maps and globes. It runs around the middle of the Earth. Show

how the top half of the Earth is north of the Equator and the bottom half of the Earth is south of the Equator. Havethe students frace the Equator on the page. Help the students locate Africa, Asia, North America, South America,Europe, Australia, and Antarctica on the map and globe. Then instruct the students to answer each question usingthe map or globe. After the students complete the page, review their answers orally.
