Existing ProductLocationThe location where this photograph was taken is at the harbour in Sidney. I know this because i can see the Sidney opera house at the bottom of the stereographic image.

AngleThe angle in which the photo has been taken is a landscape wide angle shot. This has been done to make it a lot easier when merging together the images in Photoshop. Because the images are wide angled you are able to fit a lot more of the landscape in the shot.

AudienceThe audience of this photograph will be aimed at the tourist who travel from across the world to see Sidney. The photo could be used by a tourism company which host tours around the Sidney harbour.

EffectTo make this image look like I does it takes a very complex proses. This includes adding all your images into Photoshop from your camera and then turning the image into a panoramic image. After doing this you can edit the lighting to make colour more vibrant as done in the photo and then the panorama has been made into a stereographic panorama image.

ColoursThere is quite a variation of different colours used in the image. The editor has enhanced the primary colours such as the blue, if you look at the sky and ocean we can see how much brighter and vibrant they are, this make the image stand out a lot more.

LightingThe lighting in the image has been taken by the camera using no added lights just the stand natural light. However when the image has been put in to Photo shop the editor has made the images colours a lot more vibrant such as the blues in the image have been made richer to make the ocean and sky stand out a lot more.

AudienceThe audience of this photograph will be aimed at the tourist who travel from across the world to see the see New York, an image such as this can be used by travel company's to advertise New York City.

LocationThe location where this photograph was taken is at the a walk way at the side of the Hudson river over looking the landscape of New York city at night time with all the lights from the sky scrapers reflecting out over the water.

LightingThe lighting in the image has been taken by the camera using no added lights just the stand natural light. However when the image has been put in to Photo shop the editor has made the images light in the image such as the light reflecting fro the empire states building, a lot brighter to give the photo a better overall effect.

LocationThe location where this photograph was taken is at a view point over looking down town Los Angeles in 1907.

AudienceThe audience for this type of panoramic image will now be stored in museum showing the history of Los Angeles.

LightingThe lighting in the image has been taken by the camera using no added lights just the stand natural light. This is because when the photo ill have been taken no added camera equipment would have been designer yet. Also no edit software will have been invented so what ever the image looks like after been taken is the final image.

AngleThe angle in which the photo has been taken is a landscape wide angle shot. This has been done to to get a lot more of the image in the picture, this is needed because a panoramic photo is normal a 180 degrees of the landscape.

EffectTo make this image back in 1907 they would have taken 4 photos of the landscape to capture as much of the background of they could and jus simply lined up the photos and stuck them together.

ColoursThe colours used in this image are fully black and white except for the red heart which has ben purposely made to stand out. This has been done been done to represent a company or something where the heart is wanted to be seen.

Research Analysis• What common features do the researched products have?

– One common feature which is used though out all the four images are that all the image have been taken with a wide angle camera lens. This has been done because when taking a panoramic photo it is a lot easier if more of the landscape is captured in one image so when you attach the images together when editing you will not have to use more than about four photographs.

– One more common feature that is used in the researched photos from after the 1990’s have all ben turned in to a stereographic image. This done to create a small tiny world look to the panoramic photograph which gives it a better effect. This can be done with any panoramic photo, you first insert the photo in to Photoshop and add then add the stereographic image effect to create you own tiny world panoramic image.

• What aspects of the research will you include within your on work?– In my own work I will first take a panoramic photograph, ill do this by choosing a place in

which will make a good landscape photograph and take several photos all in the same angle and position. I will then paste the photos in to Photoshop and turn all the images into on panoramic picture. After doing this process I will use will turn the photo in to a stereographic image making the picture look like a tiny world.

Research Evaluation

Page 25: 2. research

Research Evaluation– Product Research

• One strength of how I performed my product research is that I went in to a lot of detail when describing each individual image which i think will be able to help me when I look back at the product research to help my edit my photograph.

• One weakness of my product research is that is does include a wide range of different photos. This mean if I decide to change my idea I wont have any research to help me edit the photo.

– Questionnaires• One strength of using this method of research is that it allows me to collect a lot of

other people opinions. This can help me to improve any ideas I have for editing my photo or taking my photo.

• One weakness of the research method is that th feedback which I can collect is not detailed so I can only get an idea on how to make my photo more appealing to the audience.

– Interviews• One strength of using this method is that I get one to one questioning with the audience to

see what they are looking for. I can then apply this to my work so that the audience are more likely to enjoy my photos because they will have have feedback before they get published.

• One weakness for this type of research is that it can turn out to be time consuming, this is because when you are talking to some one you may start to ask them more question as planned and take to long

Page 26: 2. research

Research Evaluation– What sort of a response did you get?

• I mostly got a positive responses from everyone, I also got some very helpful details such as what people would like to see in photographs I also gathered information on where to post my photos after they have been produced to get the best feedback and how to improve my photos for next time. Also from analysing the feedback from the survey I can tell that someone people will not like the types of photos I produce however with everything any one brings out some people will not like it. Although I will try my hardest so that a higher number o people well like my photos.

– How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage• To distribute my survey I emailed it is people close to me, and people in my class.

This aloud me collect a very wide range of opinions, so I could make my photos to the best of there standard. One advantage of doing this ia that people in my class al have very different opinions so I was not collecting a biased opinion on photography. One disadvantage of handing around my survey is that some of my friends will not have taken the survey as seriously as I would have wanted and didn’t answer the questions honestly.
