Say goodbye' in a smooth way at exit interviewToday is the trend to-

wards change. Every one ofus need and think for a

change in our daily life. Welook forward for better jobs,

better pay and finally a better

career. Job change has be-come a common phenomenon

for a better career growth. But changing jobs

should not be like chang-ing one's clothes and needsto be handled carefully. Mr.

Ram is a sincere, honest, dedicated and hardworking

    manager in a reputed

organisation since five years. One fine day, he received an

offer from anotherorganisation that better suits

    his career objectives and

helps him climb the careerladder. Now before he packs

up his things, he needs toappear for an 'exit interview",

the last but still a crucial part

of the employment process.Exit interviews are necessary

before the final departure ofemployees. As you quit the

job, you need to answer why,

    how and what prompted you

to leave the job. Here are

some clues that help you to say

'good bye' in a smooth way:GetReady: Even though , you feel

exit interviews as a mere HRformality, you should attend it

as a token of courtesy to your

employer. You need to preparewell before as you do it for the

job interview. Also ask th e em-ployer for some cushion time

to prepare for. Make small notesof points you would like to say.

    Since this stage also in-

cludes you in the employmenthistory with the company, you

need to be careful while deal-

ing with any issues. Behave ina professional way and after

all, your final behavior and ap-proach towards the HR people

    counts. Sometimes negative

comments may creep in to yourfile that may spoil your future

    career.Honest farewell: You

may quit the job for many rea-

sons like, job dissatisfaction, low pay, delayed promotion,

unclear job description and re-sponsibilities, frustrated with

    boss and surrounding environ-

    ment. Whatever may be the

reason, you need to exhibit a

    positive approach while J

answering the questions. The HR mainly to get proper

feedback from departing em-ployees a nd learning what

    could be done to proved

ployee engagement conductsan exit interview. So present

the true information withoutblaming anyone. Offer posi-

tive and constructive criticismthat could benefit theorganisation in future. Instead

of complaining about loop-holes, you can well analyse

    and explain issues you faced

in an unbiased manner anddemonstrate your experi-

ences honestly. Alwaysspeak in terms of the

    organisation as a whole and

do not specifically point topeople those with whom you

are unhappy. If you are leav-ing the organisation for bet-

    ter career growth, you need

to stay factual and give thereasons in brief. Always 're-

member that maintaining goodrelations with all will help you

    to succeed in your professional

    endeavor. Maintain cordial
