CAA Sri Lanka - Background
– Established in terms of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka Act No.34 of 2002.
– is the sole regulatory body charged with safety oversight functions in civil aviation.
– reports to the Minister of Civil Aviation– is managed by a Board of eight (8) Members.– has powers to make independent financial and
administrative decisions, within the overall policy of the government.
– Faced ICAO Assessment/Audit in 1997,2000, 2004 (follow up Audit) and USOAP audit in 2010
