NOW, THEREFORE, the Anchorage Municipal Assembly resolves that: Section 1: The Alaska Military Youth Academy's National Guard Youth Corps Challenge Program is recognized and honored for the success of its residency and aftercare programs for challenged civilian youth aged 16 to 18. Section 2: The 94 men and women of the Academy's September, 2002 graduating class are recognized and honored for their achievement. A RESOLUTION OF THE ANCHORAGE MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY RECOGNIZING ANDHONORING THE ALASKA MILITARY YOUTH ACADEMY'S NATIONAL GUARD YOUTH CORPSCHALLENGE PROGRAM AND THE SEPTEMBER 2002 GRADUATING CLASS

WHEREAS, on September 6,2002, the Alaska Military Youth Academy graduated 94 menand women who entered the Academy's National Guard Youth Corps Challenge Program; and

WHEREAS, the Program graduates earn the equivalent of a high school diploma from theState of Alaska while receiving experienced training that instills discipline, direction, honor, andintegrity; and

WHEREAS, the Program offers a voluntary enrollment 22-week residency program and an18-month aftercare program for challenged and/or troubled youth; and
