The English-Speaker's Essential Guide to Life in Today's China

 CONTENTS Hello,

Thanks for picking up a copy of City Weekend's 2008 Media Kit. Inside, you'll find every-thing you need to know about City Weekend's magazine, website, email updates and mobile phone service. We're committed to being the best and most widely circulated English entertain-ment magazine in China this Olympic year.

Shanghai and Beijing have grown enormously in 2007 and, in 2008, City Weekend will respond to that growth by not only enlarging the size and circulation of its popular Shanghai and Beijing Entertainment Guides, but also by reversing their position with its unique National Edition. Now, each city will have its own bi-weekly Entertainment Guide full of the latest events, news, din-ing recommendations and venue listings with a National Edition inside as a pull out. This powerful enhancement of City Weekend means more local city coverage for our readers and advertisers, while keeping the hallmark of the magazine intact - a national magazine with news, travel and more about China in each issue.

We believe at City Weekend that a local entertainment magazine is not the property or product of any one person or editor. Through our innovative and revolutionary website, www.cityweekend.com.cn, the entire community of Beijing or Shanghai can share events and news, recommend new places, advertise classifieds and review businesses in the city for free. Our editors and columnists strive to bring features and columns that reveal entertaining insights about Shanghai and Beijing as well as offer helpful advice about how to enjoy and give back to the city at large. Simply put, City Weekend aims to engage, explore and invite our readers - families and individuals alike - into each one of its unique products for Shanghai and Beijing.

Through its broad range of products and publishing mission, City Weekend can offer power-ful multi-channel advertising solutions to its clients. With its website, weekly email updates, mo-bile phone service, entertainment magazines, family-oriented supplements and event organization resources, City Weekend can attract both enormous and precise demographic audiences for its advertisers. In promoting services to the English reader in China, only City Weekend can give such flexibility, scope and value to its client partners.

Thank you again for considering City Weekend as a partner and preferred magazine. We wish you a successful year as China celebrates its first Olympic Games.

All the best,

Managing Editor

HOW CITY WEEKEND WORKS Over the years City Weekend has become more than just a bi-weekly

English language entertainment magazine. We are also the website readers use when they seek information, the platform event

organizers trust to promote their events, the weekly email update that keeps people in the know, the mobile service making

everyone’s lives easier and the guide that parents recognize and trust. We run on the desire to know what readers care about and what

advertisers think, the drive to continuously innovate for the better and, of course, many, many cups of coffee.

As an event orga-nizer, it's important for us to reach the widest possible audience and hit them with timely information. With City Weekend, we've done just that and also tied in with their website to activate unique reader contests with exciting prizes such as VIP ticket packages and chances to meet artists after a show.

Now in their sixth year, City Weekend’s supplements have grown from industry guides to highly targeted, multi-dimensional reader magazines. Each issue provides highly relevant information to a specific group of unique English readers, always aiming to improve their lives here in China.

City Weekend’s Home & Office magazine has evolved in the past year to become a functional and easy-to-use guide for people living in Beijing and Shanghai. Our newest and most unique feature to Home & Office is the area profiles which provide a comprehensive look at hot property areas in Beijing and Shanghai. Additionally, the magazine is filled with great property listings, useful home and garden tips, shopping ideas, and more. It’s more than just a real estate guide, it’s a complete guide on how to make China a home.

pArents & kids supplement mAgAzinedistribution: 40,000 copies

City Weekend’s Parents & Kids magazine is a full feature, professional magazine organized with expat families in mind. In addition to a useful navigation system based on age groups, City Weekend’s 2008 Parent’s & Kids will also have articles, venue list-ings and features to cover all the bases of family living in China. Moms and dads can pick up Parents & Kids to choose a great family restaurant, find that important school, or keep informed about family health practices.

shAnghAi serviCe direCtOry (shAnghAi Only)distribution: 48,000 copies

With City Weekend magazine covering all the lifestyle and entertainment infor-mation for our readers every two weeks, we recognized the need for a brief but highly useful guide to services in Shanghai. “Where do I get a suit made? Photos developed? Find a moving company? Invest in my financial future?” After listening to readers’ requests, we created the City Weekend Service Directory.

The Service Directory is distributed with City Weekend, free of charge. Whether left by the phone or kept constantly by their sides, the Service Directory is a popular and valuable resource for expats and will be sure to get our advertisers recognized in the English-speaking community.

ADVERTISING DIMENSIONS 1 CITY WEEKEND ONLINE AND MOBILE SERVICE 1

City Weekend OnlineCity Weekend's www.cityweekend.com.cn revolutionized the English entertain-

ment magazine industry in 2007. It was the first and only website in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou to invite users to share events, new venues and classifieds online. It also was the first to have that content stream into City Weekend's bi-weekly magazine. In 2008, City Weekend takes technology further, syndicating user-generated-content into its new email updates and mobile phone service. Largely as a result, City Weekend Online has the fastest growing unique visitors per day rate in the English language market.

By allowing every single English speaker in and outside of China to contribute to the City Weekend website, editors possess a valuable cache of information to produce their work. The most popular and relevant content (determined by user behavior and click through) is funneled into the print magazine and weekly email updates, ensuring that the magazine truly reflects the tastes and interests of our readership.

With new features like the City Weekend Blog Forum and Olympic Channel in 2008, www.cityweekend.com.cn is more interactive than ever. We're continuously im-proving our website and will be unveiling more surprises in the months to come. Please visit the website and see for yourself the online community that we've already built.
