What is the ICC?• Global event managed by our NGO
partner the Ocean Conservancy
• Largest one-day volunteer event in the world on behalf of clean oceans and inland water ways
• Objective is to “Start a Sea Change” by increasing public awareness and change behaviors around litter, pollution and marine debris issues.
• Last year, 378,000 volunteers from 76 countries and 45 states cleared six million pounds of trash from oceans and waterways and recorded every piece of trash collected.

DO NOT BRING: Black disposable garbage bags
NO Slippers, open-toe shoes
NO Mineral water bottles or similar disposable containers
Fast Foods & Snacks with disposable wrappers as these may contribute to the litter during the event
What Do I Do?What Do I Do?Review the ICC Data card before the event itself for better ease of use & accuracy of dataWork in Groups of 4, and assign a leader & a recorderDO NOT fill out the ICC Data Cards individually - 1 ICC Data Card can be used for all 4 Team MembersClean up ALL debris found on your beach, but record only on the items listed on the ICC-Data Card
DO NOT pick up: large pieces of metal, wood. Be careful when handling glass, syringes, or other sharp objects with rough edges, nails, etc.

Pre-Registration ProcedureGroup Leaders:
-To facilitate registration of our over 400 volunteers, we shall be implementing a Pre-registration system.
- On the day itself, look for the Coke Barkada Tent, and submit to us a printed list of your confirmed volunteers.
- Coke Foundation will provide your group with the T-Shirts, sandwiches, Funchum drinks for you to distribute to your group.
- Proceed to DENR Zone # 4

After the Cleanup
Submission of data cards immediately to Zone/Site Coordinator or the International Marinelife Alliance
- Already segregate as you collect (bottles, cans, etc.)
- Do not mix garbage collected
- Garbage trucks shall be provided by the LGU
Record information on marine debris
Identify sources and activities causing the debris
Result… global database on marine debris
