The world’s first night race and inaugural 2008 FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE SINGTEL GRAND PRIX was held on 26-28 September 2008 along the street circuit around Marina Bay.

Kingsmen supplied & installed 20,000 grandstand seats; more than 130 corporate suites, the Paddock Club Entrance & Lifestyle Area; and various signage around the circuit under a multi-year contract.

We worked alongside race promoter, Singapore GP Pte Ltd, & lead technical consultant, Kellogg Brown & Root Engineers Pte Ltd, & partnered seating specialist, Australian Seating Systems to develop the premium seating system & hospitality suites.

The 2009 FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE SINGTEL GRAND PRIX will take place from 25-27 September 2009.

Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, China

One World, One Dream. The whole world laid their eyes on Beijing when China’s capital hosted the 29th Games of the Olympiad. The 17-day, multi-sport event saw 11,249 athletes from 204 countries compete in 302 medal events staged at gigantic state-of-the-art venues such as the iconic Bird's Nest & Water Cube.

Once again, Kingsmen had a hand in making history by extending our full suite of exhibition & events services to clients like GE for the GE Imagination Centre, Buratti for Casa Italia pavilion & David Grand Special Events (DGSE) for London House, NBC & GE and Johnson & Johnson Hospitality Centres.

Kingsmen has, for more than 25 years, provided design & fabrication services to leading aerospace companies & design houses for internationally-acclaimed airshows in Farnborough, Paris, Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore, Malaysia & Japan. In last year’s Japan Aerospace, we partnered Messe Design for EADS, Lockheed Martin & Aaxico, among others, to showcase the latest trends & products in the aviation industry.

The inaugural Singapore Airshow was held from 19–24 February 2008 at a brand new show site, Changi Exhibition Centre. As a leading exhibition & event services provider for airshows in Asia, Kingsmen partnered design houses & leading aerospace companies to produce more than 30 stands & chalets in this must-see event of the global aviation industry.

Water Expo at Singapore International Water Week 2008

Doosan at Power-Gen Europe 2008, Italy

In collaboration with European partner, Trifolium, Kingsmen designed & constructed Doosan’s 980-sqft. stand at Power-Gen Europe 2008. The design combined informative graphics, suspended signage & fittings of Doosan’s corporate colors for brand recognition. Kingsmen has worked with Doosan on various overseas exhibitions since 2003.

Water Expo, a major trade show held in conjunction with the inaugural Singapore International Water Week, is a global platform to showcase the needs of the world demands for improved water solutions & eco-friendly infrastructure for environmental sustainability. We extended our design & fabrication services to leading water innovation & technology companies like Semb Corp, Salcon & CDM. Held from 23-27 June 2008, the tradeshow brought together more than 350 participants from some 40 countries.

Kingsmen worked with world leader in consumer electronics, JVC, on its first participation at Auto Expo India 2008. Based on the client’s marketing objective, the design offered a feature wall that displayed JVC’s wide product range without cutting down space for customers to move around. The bright red color used was effective in drawing the visitors into the stand. With the theme, Mobility for All, the eight-day show recorded an attendance of1.8 million visitors from 29 countries.

Bangkok International Motorshow 2008, Thailand

Kingsmen’s grip in supporting automobile shows was again shown through a 12-day show, from 26 March to 6 April, at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) with two leading motor companies, Lexus & Yamaha.

AGMC, the exclusive importer of BMW, MINI & Rolls-Royce in Dubai, Sharjah & the Northern Emirates, brought its latest BMW & MINI range to the Sharjah Motor Show 2008. Held at the Expo Centre Sharjah from 18-22 November, visitors at the AGMC stand saw a premium line-up of 16 models as well as an opportunity to participate in the BMW 1 Series Driving Skills Competition.

Selex Communications at Tetra World Congress 2008, Hong Kong

Two Kingsmen offices teamed up to create Selex Communications’ stand at the Tetra World Congress 2008 which, for the first time, was held outside of Europe. Designed by Kingsmen & built by Kingsmen, the stand displayed solutions for security, public safety & emergency, military & transportation. Tetra World Congress 2008 was held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre in May 2008.

Rossmax’ towering stand was definitely an eye-catcher at last year’s Medica 2008 held in Dusseldorf, Germany. Created in partnership with Kingsmen, the booth showcased a collection of medical & healthcare devices produced by the company. To highlight the products on display, a soothing combination of blue & white colors were used on the walls & graphics.

In its 28th year, Computex Taipei has become the largest computer exhibition in Asia & the second largest in the world, next to CeBIT in Germany. Held in four different venues spanning over 1 million sqft. of exhibition space, the 2008 show drew over 1,700 exhibitors & 4,600 stands. Kingsmen worked with Transcend, AMD & Elecom, some of the most recognized infocomm companies in the world today.

UEM at Cityscape Asia 2008, Singapore

Inspired by some of the latest exhibition technologies available in the market today, the UEM / Iskandar Development stand at Cityscape Asia 2008 reflects the company’s forward-looking business objectives. Huge graphic prints of UEM’s development map were placed on the floor while scaled models of their properties were found at the center of the stand. The highlight of the design was the huge projection screen that runs across the perimeter of the stand, displaying UEM’s business strategies & achievements. Designed by Kingsmen, the stand was used again at Cityscape Dubai 2008.

The Singapore Pavilion at the Venice Biennale International Architecture Exhibition provided a platform for Singapore designers from various art forms to come together to discuss the facets of architecture & design. It comprised a series of 22 objects & inter-related dialogues that showcased the emerging cross design disciplinary culture in Singapore. The exhibition, held from 14 September to 23 November was fabricated by Kingsmen and designed by Design Act & Farmworks.

ITB Berlin, the world’s leading travel tradeshow, was held in the Dominican Republic from 5-9 March 2008. The show attracted a record-breaking number of exhibitors, with 11,147 companies from 186 countries presenting the latest products & services from the travel industry. As with previous shows, Kingsmen continued to partner design houses & major players in the travel industry who were participating in the show.

Food & Hotel Asia 2008Singapore

It was sweet success for Food & Hotel Asia (FHA) 2008! The four-day power-packed event, from 22–25 April, attracted 52,900 participants from 90 countries, across the food & hospitality industry. More than 2,600 exhibitors showcased their latest products, supplies & technologies. Kingsmen worked with more than 20 industry leaders including Bon Café, Gruppo Cimbali & Bakemark. Without doubt, FHA once again cemented its position as Asia’s largest international food & hospitality trade event.

The 80-booth Japan pavilion served as a perfect venue for vistors & Japanese vendors to network. The pavilion’s open concept allowed buyers to view the exhibition space while browsing through the finest Japanese ingredients & provided a one-stop place for culinary experts to experience some of Japan's delicious cuisine & enjoy cooking demonstrations throughout the four-day show. Japan Pavilion was a result og the Kingsmen group’s joint venture.

To capture the attention of coffee enthusiasts, SungYoo stand at the Seoul Food & Hotel 2008 replicated a coffee shop in town. The design used luxuriant black with a backlight logo in silver & white, to match the design of the marketing collaterals used for the event. This was Kingsmen’s first collaboration with SungYoo Enterprise. Seoul Food & Hotel 2008 was held at Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) from 14-17 May.

Anime Festival Asia 2008, Singapore

Held for the first time in South East Asia, Anime Festival Asia 2008 (AFA08) was a celebration of the diversity of Japanese Pop Culture. The over 54,000-sqft. festival space was a showcase of character appearances, musical performances, movie screening, talks from anime developers & market leaders and exhibition from leading industry players. The two-day, blockbuster event was organized by i-Promo Events & Marketing, a subsidiary of Kingsmen, in cooperation with Dentsu Singapore.

The world’s premier financial services event was held in Vienna, from 15-19 September 2008. Sibos attracts thousands of participants yearly from the financial industry to create opportunities, do business & maintain contact with established industry players. Similar to previous years, Kingsmen worked with more than 20 loyal clients for the design & fabrication of exhibition stands at Sibos. The next Sibos event will be held in Hong Kong.

Broadband World Forum Asia (BBWF Asia 2008) returned to Hong Kong! The four-day conference & exhibition was held from 15-18 July 2008 at Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. The event presented an array of conferences on the market potential of broadband services, complemented by a technology exhibition on the latest broadband technologies, equipment, applications & solutions available. With Kingsmen’s expertise in managing regional events, they were selected as the official contractor for BBWF Asia 2008.

Bike Asia 2008, Singapore

Kingsmen was selected as the official contractor for the first Bike Asia held from 10-13 April 2008 at the Singapore Expo. Based on the design concept & space planning by chief designer, Marco Blini, Kingsmen worked on the design implementation, project & event management and construction of the media centre, visitors’ lounge and F&B areas. We also partnered brands like Rodalink, Ducati & AGV, to name a few.

Held outside Japan for the first time, the 9th Japan International Apparel Machinery Tradeshow 2008 (JIAM 2008) received more than 25,000 visitors from various parts of Asia & the world. JIAM 2008 showcased the latest & most advanced machinery & equipment from the world’s leading manufacturers & suppliers of the apparel & textile. Designed & fabricated by Kingsmen, the 11,600-sqft. Juki stand adapted an open concept to display its wide range of industrial sewing machines while providing ample space for trade visitors to test the machines’ features.

Kingsmen’s expertise in providing quality & prompt services has made us the preferred choice for both exhibitions & events. From 23-26 June, Kingsmen provided project management & construction services to Terrapinn for Real Estate Investment World Asia 2008 (REIW Asia 2008) exhibition, conference & gala dinner. Prior to REIW Asia 2008, Kingsmen also worked with Terrapinn for Cards Asia, Mobile Content World & SCM Logistics World.

Having services rather than products to exhibit, Kingsmen created state-of-the-art, interactive displays that use more AV & lighting systems to showcase Dalian Software Park’s capabilities as well as forthcoming developments. Designed & fabricated by Kingsmen Shanghai, Dalian Software Park Gallery echoes the visions of the company as it grows to become the centre of Service Outsourcing in Northeast Asia.

The Home Team Gallery is a purpose-built, double storey facility that showcases the achievements of Singapore’s Home Team departments & how they have evolved through the years. The gallery boasts AV displays & interactive exhibits & was designed by Houghton Kneale Design (HKD) from London. This multi-million dollar project was fabricated & fitted-out by Kingsmen.

FusionWorld, Singapore

Petaling Jaya Museum, Malaysia

FusionWorld is an interactive & multi-sensory showcase of ultramodern technologies from seven A*STAR research institutes. Conceptualized by MET Studio Design from London, the gallery portrays a lifestyle theme illustrated through five zones, namely home, enterprise, medical, transportation & visitors’ lounge. These zones were fitted out with smart technologies developed by A*STAR. Drawing from our experience in large-scale museum projects, Kingsmen completed the fit-out of this 7,500-sqft. gallery within five months.

Designed & fabricated by Kingsmen, the Petaling Jaya Museum traces the journey of the city from a satellite town to one of the most important cities of Malaysia. The museum’s three galleries showcase the origins of Petaling Jaya, the administration & finally, its expansion & development. Kingsmen has worked with numerous government & private institutions on museums & galleries in various parts of Malaysia.

Dubbed as “The Everest of Sailing”, the Volvo Ocean Race is the world's most challenging offshore yacht race, bringing together seven sailing teams on a global journey that lasts nine months & covers 37,000 nautical miles. It was the first time this prestigious event had a Southeast Asian city stop. As early as six months before the event, Kingsmen started working with ONE15 Singapore Ocean Race Pte Ltd & Sentosa, providing tentages, hospitality suites & signage during the 10-day event festival which was held from 8-18 January 2009.

Kingsmen’s history with BMW began with the construction of the first ever three-storey, standalone pavilion at The Padang in 2005. Since then, we have not only proven the reusability & mobility of our designs, but have also formulated fresh ideas, created new & innovative designs & professionally managed projects like BMW showrooms & numerous car launches.

In conjunction with the SingTel Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix, Hong Seh Motors held the Ferrari California preview at the Ritz Carlton on 24 September 2008. Kingsmen provided design, space planning & event management services for this private event. The high point of the evening was when the covering structure was mechanically lifted to unveil the Ferrari, giving the privileged few a preview of the latest addition to the new generation of Ferraris.

Moving One Step HigherKingsmen Creatives Ltd was upgraded to the Mainboard of the Singapore Exchange. Since being listed in 2003, Kingsmen has been working hard to grow the business & establish itself as the leading communications design & production company in Asia Pacific & the Middle East. Moving forward, the company plans to devote more resources to develop new businesses in North Asia, the Middle East & India.

Enhancing our capabilities - developing our people

The 2008 Regional Senior Managers Conference was held in Bintan from 24-26 August. A total of 53 delegates from 16 offices attended the three-day forum which focused on leadership development. The highlight of the conference was a workshop specially-designed to give delegates essential leadership competencies to get extraordinary things done.

This year’s summer Regional Conferences also saw the inaugural Regional Accountants Meeting, a gathering of accountants from Kingsmen offices to discuss critical accounting matters. Kingsmen’s Annual Regional Conference brings together key people from all offices to network & discuss ways to enhance our services.

Five individual awards & one team award were given out at the 2008 Kingsmen Ambassador Awards. The awarding was held at Pan Pacific Singapore in December during the company’s Annual Dinner & Dance. Kudos to all the winners!
