    In 2008, we served more han 450 individuals wih disabiliies. Weupgraded our aciliies o mee individuals changing needs, provided 26

    Our second dierence is Innovation. We are on a consan ques o improveour perormance and increase he qualiy o our services and producs, inorder o wihsand he pressures o a changing economy. As Gandhi wroe,We mus be he change we wish o see in he world.

    ransormation Comes Trough Support and Personal Commitment

    Jennier was shy and inrovered when she came o MV LE in 1992. A 23 years old she had jus graduaedrom Falls Church High School. Facing lie wih quadriplegic cerebral palsy, her progress has been amazing,due, in par, o he suppor o her parens along wih our sa and herapiss. Mos o he credi, however,goes o his brave young woman.

    When she enrolled, Jennier was in a wheelchair wi h no conrol o her righ ar m or head. Now she can walkover 50 ee wih a gai-walker, open her righ hand, and hold up her head.

    Her mom has saed, Our associaion wih MVLE over he many years has been like a miracle. Te sa and

    he herapiss are like amily o us.

    Now living in a group home, she has a grea sense o humor and alks o everyone, and no longer dependsenirely on her communicaions device. Jennier wans o say wih M VLE long-erm, and MVLE w ill bericher or i.

    A Bright Future Is Created Trough Individual Suppored Employment (ISE)

    Greg waned a job. He suered wih a disabiliy he majoriy o his lie, had no ormal raining, limiededucaion, and a poor job hisory. His uure didn seem very brigh.

    Trough MV LEs Individual Suppored Employmen Program, Greg ound work in 2008 as he LeadSales Associae a he Book Nook. He manages shipping and receiving, sors i nvenory, cleans, socks,and assiss cusomers.

    Greg had originally applied or a par-ime posiion. During his inerview wih Ms. Judy Sklar, Mid-Alanicegional Direcor o Goodwill Tri Sores, he noiced ha he oors needed bufng and oered o do hejob. Ms. Sklar was so impressed ha she oered hi m a ull- ime posiion.

    Due o Gregs ousanding work, wo addiional sa have been hired hrough MVLE. He is now in aleadership role wih he sore, has rened his own aparmen, and married a lovely young woman. Tis is

    deniely someone wih a brigh uure ahead hanks o MVLE and Gregs own commimen o his dream.

    When i comes o hard work and dedicaion wihi n MVL Es producion deparmen, one name comes omind. Wei Lung. Wei Lung has really become an excepional worker.

    When Wei Lung is no hammering away a he various conracs in producion, he is hanging ou wih his

    menor, James, learning how o saely handle our mail equipmen. Wei Lung also assiss wih running mailhrough our posage machine and loading all he copiers wih paper.

    program in 2 003, aer graduaing rom Pulley Vocaional Cener. He graduaed rom Wes PoomacHigh School in 1991.

    Jonahan, 28, waned o be a par o he mobile crew and sar ed working a various sies wihin heCommuniy Employmen Services (CES) deparmen. Te variey o jobs and increasing levels oresponsibiliy gave Jonahan he necessary opporuni y o develop his condence oward his goalo independence.

    Aer 24 years liv ing a home, he was recenly able o ulll his dream o independen living. Now, he ismaking new riends and experiencing lie on his own.

    Communiy Access enables individuals o complee paid work in hecommuniy one o ve imes a week or up o our hours per day while also

    receiving herapeuic suppor and raining services a he ceners. Jobsperormed include ier and newspaper delivery, grounds keeping, andcusodial work.

    Production

    Individuals in Producion complee conraced mailroom asks in heceners and experience primarily work-oriened days. h is program areaalso oers an ar ray o suppor and ra ining serv ices based upon eachindividuals needs.

    Individual Supported Employment

    Individual Suppored Employmen (ISE) provides individuals wihassisance in obaining and reaining compeiive employmen in hecommuniy. While he employee does no work or MVLE, he or she isno alone as we oer cusomized suppor services. We can also providereenion assisance, as needed, o ensure ongoing successul employmenand help nurure supporive relaionships in he working environmen.Trough ISE, we oer:

    Siuaional assessmens or career exploraion

    On-sie raining and suppor or ransiion and ask managemen

    Experience in adapive echnology and reasonableaccommodaions

    Personal suppor or budge raining, including ravel raining

    Personal Support Services Group (PSSG)

    Individuals served by he PSSG Day Suppor Program are atainingor mainaining heir max imum uncional level, while experiencing a

    meaningul and producive day. Te Day Suppor Program is grealyenhanced by MVLEs Voluneers, who provide regular evens suchas reading groups, pe herapy, ar herapy and musical programs.Programmed aciviies are individualized in order o mee each personsneeds and ineress.

    Community Employment Services (CES) Program

    Finding he rig h job is always a chal lenge. For he men and womenin our communiy-based services programs, MV LE considers each

    individual s srenghs, weaknesses and preerences when securing hebes possible job mach. In add iion, we provide he necessary supporor boh he individual and he employer o ensure he mach coninueso be successul.

    Individuals enrolled in his program receive siuaional assessmens,raining, and suppored group employmen a communiy-based work sieswihi n local businesses. An MVLE Job Coach works alongside our o eighindividuals a each job sie in providing suppor and raining o develop job,social, employabiliy, and mobiliy skills. Indirec assisance is also oered

    hrough ransporaion coordinaion, employer counseling and advocacy.MVLE currenly operaes over 26 employemen locaions ha ocus onsuch job opporuniies as:

    MVLEs parnership wih AbiliyOne, ormerly JWOD, began in 1994when we won a conrac providing janiorial/cusodial ser vices o M.V.Boseter Federal Bankrupcy Courhouse in Old own Alexandria. Ourabiliy and repuaion have resuled in addiional award o conracs wih

    DAU, F. Belvoir, Waler eed, Bureau o Land Managemen in Loronand a ulllmen conrac wih he Governmen Prining Ofce (GPO).We currenly provide janiorial and mai lroom services ha are valueda over $3 million. Tese services provide employmen or more han 53individuals wih severe di sabiliies.

    In parnership wih AbiliyOne, MVLE now operaes a sae-o-he-araciliy providing comprehensive digial documen managemen soluionsin capuring valuable inormaion a he poin o enry in an agency hemail room. Our NISH-sponsored Naional Demo and esing Cener
