MMAASSOONN CCIITTYY — KIMT hosted the20th annual Scholastic All-Stars/Golden Apple Awards lun-cheon, May 12. KIMT beganScholastic All-Stars in 1989 as aprogram to recognize high schoolseniors who excel academically inschool activities, and who are activein their communities.

Each high school in the KIMTviewing area was invited to send two

seniors who meet this critera. Over100 seniors from 48 area highschools attended the luncheon.

In combination with the Scholas-tic All -Stars, KIMT presented theGolden Apple finalists and Teacherof the year. For over 20 years, KIMThas awarded an area teacher theGolden Apple Award, each week,during the school year. This award isan honor to educators who are nom-inated by their students, based onthe impact they’ve had on their lives.

Six finalists were selected from all
