Call for students for PMP/CAPM coaching class Feb-Apr-2010

Of course you can prepare yourself for the PMP or CAPM exam by self-study, but you can also enrol in the nextPMI Netherlands Coaching class. Because we are currently updating the presentation material for the newPMBOK Fourth Edition, we have skipped the autumn class and will start the next class early in the new yearfrom February to April 2010.

For several years the Chapter has organized this class, in which experienced member PMPs prepare you for theexam. Since 2006 we organize this class twice a year, and it its popularity is growing. Most of the students havepassed their exams on their first try short after the class. The class is spread over four Saturdays with twoweeks in between. The first three days you will make questions in specific knowledge areas, and the coacheswill explain in an interactive way the rationale of the answers. It is expected that you study the material at homethoroughly. Each day is concluded by giving a brief overview of the areas for the next session. On the last dayyou will make a test exam, of which the results are discussed with the coaches.

Tentative class dates are 13th February, 6th and 20th March, and 17th April. All classes start at 9:30, and run till 17:00.The location is Hotel De Biltsche Hoek in De Bilt, close to Utrecht.

The language is English and/or Dutch.

For the class to be effective for students and coaches we recommend you to attend at least 3 of the Saturdaysand to have passed the experience and education eligibility requirements (which you can find on www.pmi.org,under “Get Certified”) and to already have planned your online exam soon after the class.

The fee is €545 (inclusive 19% VAT), which includes study material (PMBOK Fourth Edition - English versionand Rita Mulcahy’s PMP® Exam Prep, Sixth Edition), accommodation, lunch and beverages. The price increaseis due to higher costs for accommodation and more study material.

Payment should be done immediately after the registration using the Paypal Button. Registration is not valid ifpayment s bot completed. After payment you will receive an invoice via email. The class size is 10-15 students. Enrolment is limited to PMI Netherlands Chapter members. First come, firstserved.

Project XY – The Project Management Chromosomes

Source: PMI Northern Italy Chapter (PMI-NIC)

PMI-NIC has recently launched a research which addresses the value of diversity in the project environment. The research, called "Project XY: the project management chromosomes", aims to asses the way feminine andmasculine paradigms (i.e. ways of thinking, decision-making, relational approach) are integrated in the variousareas of knowledge and most of all in the practices of professionals. Our goal is to identify "the" project management chromosomes as a result of a combination of personal attitudes(either feminine or masculine), PMBOK© guidelines and best practices. In order to reach this goal, the research needs to collect the experience of Project Managers from variouscountries, with different seniority, experience and professional background. For this purpose a questionnaire will accessible on line from mid-December 2009 to end of January 2010.The result of the research will be presented among the initiatives the Northern Italy Chapter is planning for the2010 PMI® EMEA Congress to be held in Milan. The questionnaire and the results will be validated by SAS®, the research technical sponsor,The address for the questionnaire will be published shortly.
