NITR Delhi Chapter Annual Family Get-together 28th August 2010 An Evening To

Remember

NIT Rourkela Delhi chapter successfully held its Annual Family get together in the lush

green lawns of Aakash, near India Gate New Delhi on the 28th August 2010. It is the

premier party venue of IAF in the country.

The skies had cleared up and on a balmy Delhi autumn evening, the enthusiastic Alumni

started turning up as early as 6.15 PM along with the spouses & children. There was record

attendance of more than 170 attendees with alumni from 1968 and right up to 2010.

Everybody including the spouses and children was provided with a name tag to make it

convenient to interact with the alumni across the batches. It initially started with alumni

mingling with their own batch mates but later they were seen meeting the extended family of

alumni across the batches. Good food, great weather and the spirits counter ensured thatthe excitement ran high thorugh out.

It was with great pride, nostalgia & fun that some alumni met after couple of decades. It was

worth watching the joy, love and josh!

Brij Bhardwaj (Vice Chairman) welcomed the alumni to the annual family get-together &

introduced the core team Brahm Saluja (Secretary), Salil Sahu (Jt Secretary), Deepa

Mahajan (Jt Secretary), Vikas Gupta (Treasurer), Wg Cdr A.L.Trehan (Host for the venue),

R.P.Singh (Anchor - Sponsor) and Satvika Das (Youngest motivator).

The senior most Alumni Mr Lekha from 1968 batch was presented a bouquet by the

youngest batch Kuna Soren from 2010 batch.

This was followed by introduction of each alumnus in the ascending order of the batches.

While this was happening the children were kept really busy by the games coordinator and

spouses were forming new friendships.

The event ended around 11 PM and everybody left in high moods with pleasant memories

of the evening and eagerly looking forward to next get-together.

The alumni were unanimously effusive about the excellent venue, the spirit & the

camaraderie witnessed, and the superb time that each of them had. It was great to hear the

interesting comments from some of the alumni..

Congratulations to you and rest of the committee members for organizing the meet. It was

simply great connecting with so many friends from different batches.

Look forward to attending these meets in the future.
