The 2010 Toolbox.com Employment Survey examined current salary trends, job

satisfaction, and the use of social media tools for career advancement among IT

professionals. A total of 2,295 members of the IT community at Toolbox.com

participated in the survey, which was conducted from June 16-28, 2010.

Among the global participants:

• 76.9% are currently seeking new employment opportunities

• 7.5% are currently unemployed

• 73.2% have 5 years or more of professional experience

• 16.6% are managers or executives

• 14.2% report current salaries above $100K

• 44.3% consider themselves overqualified for their current position

• 70.3% of those current seeking new employment have been searching for less than 3 months

• 38.5% are using social media to conduct their job search
