Hospital: Chris Clevenger & Sophia Brown (both in St. Louis) Communed: Chris, Cameron & Cailin Clevenger Sympathy: Our Christian prayers & sympathy are extended to the family of Sue Anne Adams, who went to her heavenly home Friday, May 20th. (She was a teacher and music director at St. James Lutheran School and her husband was the principal & a teacher there too.) Also to Ola Wellman whose brother, Arlie Parn, passed away last week and received Christian burial @ Good Shepherd in Clayton. Next week: The missionary from Turkey, whom we support, will be worshipping with us next Sunday. He will address the Sunday morning Bible Class. Altar Flowers have been donated by Linda & Dennis Go in celebration of Linda’s baptism on 6/5/60. Scrip Volunteers needed! We would like to have two volunteers per time slot. Don’t worry – if you are a “new” scrip volunteer, then we would have a “veteran” volunteer working with you. If you are interested in helping out with our scrip program, please contact Melissa Knapp who schedules the workers. The Rada Cutlery is an ongoing fundraiser. Once we have enough orders that total around $60 to $70, we will place an order. Please see the display in the lounge.

2011 Lutheran Singles Association For Single Adults: A weekend of food, fellowship, & fun! Lutherans Singles Association is holding their biennial Conference at Camp CILCA, Cantrall, IL (near Springfield) June 9 – 12, 2011. The theme this time is: “Ships of Life” and the keynote speaker is Rev. Joseph Cunningham. Cost is $350 for the entire conference (includes rooms, breakfast, lunch & dinner each day, service project, speaker, and entertainment). Daily rates are available upon request. The Youngish Adults will be hosting a baby shower for Jane & Joe Cleaves on Friday, June 17th at 7pm. The event is open to all who would like to celebrate the event with us. Retreat at Camp CILCA: Some people assume that Christians don’t care about creation since, according to some Christians, it will be destroyed anyway; others assume that creation exists solely for humans to use as they see fit. BIG JUNGLE ADVENTURE VBS

We have over 50 kids registered to go on the Big Jungle Adventure. They will learn how

Jesus protects and guides them throughout their lives!

This week tribe members will

• Play games

• Eat snacks

Not yet registered? Want to bring a friend (or 2 or 3?) It’s never too late!

Big Jungle Adventure registration:

•••• Either fill out an orange registration slip by the display, call the church office, or stop by

the registration “hut” any night of VBS! If your family has not yet received your Jammin’ Jungle tunes or Big Jungle iron-ons, you can

find those with your name on it in the lounge. Instructions will be included as to how to apply it to a t-

shirt.

Thanks so much for all who have donated various items, time, and talents to prepare for this faith journey with Jesus for over 50 kids at the Big Jungle Adventure!

It's not too late to register! If you have children, grandchildren, or friends ages 3 up to the 5th grade who would like to register – you can register at the VBS registration hut! We would love to have more kids along on this adventure!
