Chamber to crown new top business Thursday

Though there are many worthy con-tenders, only one Austin area busi-ness can lay claim to the city’s annual

Business of the Year award.Twelve local businesses will be recog-

nized Thursday, Feb. 23, at the annualChamber of Commerce meeting andAwards Banquet. Several businesses willbe noted for their contributions to the

community throughout last year, as well.The banquet was the largest gathering

of business members last year as morethan 300 business people attended. The lawfirm of Hoversten, Johnson, Beckmannand Hovey, LLP walked away as the 2010Business of the Year. The Austin Bruinsclawed their way to last year’s New Busi-ness of the Year award, while McDonald’s

and Courtesy Corporation was recognizedfor the construction and revitalization ofthe Oakland Avenue McDonald’s site.

The annual banquet will take place start-ing at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Holi-day Inn inside the Austin ConferenceCenter.
