Upcoming Sermon AM Series

The Holy Spirit: More, not Less Beginning Sunday Morning, August 7We speak often of God the Fatherand the Lord Jesus, but how muchdo we understand the HolySpirit? The third member of theGodhead is mysterious at best. What does He do? How does Heoperate? Join Pastor Jeff W. Crookas he explores the intriguing workand power offered to us so that wemight do more for Him, not less.Because it’s “not by might nor bypower, but by my SPIRIT, says theLORD Almighty” (Zec. 4:6).

Upcoming Sunday PM Series

The Ultimate: HeavenBeginning Sunday Night, August 28What do you see when you pictureheaven? Do you see big, pearlygates or puffy clouds with harp-strumming angels? Our ideas aboutthis future dwelling range from thecomical to the outlandish. In thisfive-week series, Pastor Jeff W.Crook will look into the pages ofScripture and present the biblicallygrounded, future experience ofevery believer. The glorious truth ofheaven comes alive; it’s THE ulti-mate — come and see!

Fuel Men’s Bible Study

Jesus Really Said That?Beginning Wednesday, August 17Our Lord Jesus said some unbeliev-able things. One time He told agroup of followers that if someoneslapped them on one side of theirface, they should turn and let himslap the other side, too. He spoke ofplucking out your eye and cutting offyour hand. Jesus said these things inMatthew chapter 5. Join Pastor Jeff onWednesdays at 6:15 am in the Theateras he opens this chapter of God’sWord and walks us through thesesayings of our Lord verse by verse. Youwill be amazed to hear what Jesus saysabout living the Christian life.

Church Family,We are approaching the last remaining months of 2011 withsuch great expectancy! We havebeen praying and giving to a visionfor a new student facility, and Godhas been faithfully blessing. Thevision has now become a reality. Ourstudents will occupy a brand new500-seat worship room, nine addi-tional Bible Fellowship classrooms, and a new café and fellowshipspace. This all corresponds with anexciting fall lineup, including a newSunday morning series on the HolySpirit, the launch of Wednesdayprogramming, and some other veryspecial church family events. All Ican say is, God is very good!

I sure do love you,Pastor Jeff

Our God has done somethinggreat. In the fall of 2009, He gave ourpastor and 20/20 Planning Team avision for a new facility. And onAugust 21, we will walk into thisworship and education space anddedicate it for His Great Name.

We are calling this new space“The Venue,” and it reminds us of allthe reasons this building will exist. 1. It will be a space for Student

Ministry growth. God is movingamong the young people ofBlackshear Place. Each week, hun-dreds gather in the MiddleSchool, High School, and Collegedepartments to worship the LordJesus, study His Word, and reachnew friends for Christ.

2. It will be a space for fellowshipand ministry activity. We arealways looking for space to host abanquet, conference, orevent. The Kidz Theater allows usthis flexibility, but The Venue willdouble our capacity to host suchactivities.

3. It will be a space for Bible Fellowship expansion. Our BibleFellowship classes are our primarydiscipleship, ministry, and fellow-ship groups; and we are alwaysrunning out of space. Nine newBible Fellowship rooms open upgrowth possibilities into the imme-diate future.Ultimately, The Venue is new

space for the advancement of thegospel and represents a real tool for

God’s glory. Everything we have atBlackshear Place is a tool forKingdom growth. It’s all aboutgetting more people to Jesus. Wedon’t build for comfort or for thesake of another building. As withevery other project, The Venue existsto give more people an opportunityto come and hear the savingmessage of the cross and to grow inthe likeness of Christ. The 500-seatworship room provides more spacefor people to hear about Jesus. Thecafé provides a casual atmospherefor more people to hear aboutJesus. The nine Bible Fellowshiprooms provide more seats for peopleto hear about Jesus. He has donegreat things; let’s use it to get morepeople to Jesus!

resolved to…re ignite a passion for Bible Fellowship Ministry

regain distant friends or members

reengage our class in outreach

RESOLVED [ri-zolvd] – adjectivefirm in purpose or intent; determined.

Commitment. Passion. Resolve. Thesewords have defined our goals for2011. They’ve been the heartbeat ofour small group ministry we call BibleFellowship. This fall, we will renew ourpledge to Bible study, fellowship, community, prayer, and ministry. Weare Resolved!

First, we’re resolved to reignite apassion for Bible Fellowship Ministry byencouraging regular attendance. Weall need a place where people knowour name, where we are loved, accepted, and cared for. That is theheart of Bible Fellowship.

Second, we’re resolved to regaindistant friends or members by connecting them to someone whocares. There are so many who onlyattend a worship service or rarelyattend a class. We want to changethat by giving everyone a lovingcommunity where we can do lifetogether.

Finally, we’re resolved to reengageour classes in outreach so that otherscan know and love the Lord Jesus asmuch as we do. A Bible Fellowshipclass is a great weekly gatheringexperience. It’s too good to keep to

ourselves. We need to share it withothers, and we need to get the wordout about what God is doing.

This is our determination. This isour steadfast desire. This is our tena-cious pursuit. For the rest of the year,we want a God-sized wave to envelopour classes to create a relentlessresolve. Join us! If you’re already apart of Bible Fellowship, go for more— get a job in your class or invite afriend. If you haven’t found a place, check one out this Sunday. Someonecan always help you at the WelcomeDesk. I’m resolved; ARE YOU?
