MissionThe mission of The Get In Touch Foundation is to

encourage gals of all ages to “Get In Touch” with their bodies, information and each other

in our crusade against breast cancer.

ObjectiveThe Get In Touch Girls’ Program & Daisy Wheel breast health initiative

educates girls in grades 5-12 on the importance of, and how to do a breast self exam - for life.

My dear friends,I started The Get In Touch Foundation in 2004, after being diagnosed with breast cancer. My 11 and 12 year old daughters were the inspiration for a program that would begin to teach girls how to do a breast self exam to build self-awareness and empowerment without fear in the equation.

Our FREE Get In Touch Girls’ Program was launched on September 1, 2009. When we closed the books on 2011, we celebrated the fact that our program was being implemented in 47 states and 12 countries.

Our FREE Daisy Wheel app, available on the iTunes Store, was launched in June 2011 and by year’s end, it had been downloaded in over 50 countries.

We’ve still got a long way to go. There are thought to be 196 independent countries in the world today – we are working hard to be an educational presence in every single one of those countries.

We know that “when you educate a girl, you educate the world,” and so we thank you and all of those who have helped to make our mission a movement – we really are “changing the world one girl at a time!”

Merchandising

“GIT Your Pink On!” DayNational “GIT Your Pink On!” Day is a fund raiser that is celebrated the third Friday in October. Money is raised by school aged children donating money by getting Pinked Out! (GYPODs are not limited to October, and take place all year long at the convenience of the school.)

Pretty In Pink EventAn award celebration event that honors women from the community that have contributed to the breast health initiatives.

Youth Ambassador ProgramThe Get In Touch Youth Ambassador Program empowers high school girls as representatives of The Get In Touch Foundation to promote the Get In Touch Girls’ Program to their schools and local community.

Laces For LanaOur mission is for hot pink laces to become a symbol of support and hope for all touched by breast cancer as we strive to improve breast health education and awareness.

GIT Boutique (cafepress.com)Shop online at our “GIT Boutique” for exclusive items, including hoodies, tees, mugs and dozens of other gifts.

Daisy Wheels - printed wheel and iPhone, iPod and iPad applicationThe program is the cornerstone mission of The Get In Touch Foundation. A circular brochure & the iphone application provides “8 Tips” for a self breast exam for girls in grades 5-12.
