2-Way Glue Pen

Features & Benefits

Permanent or temporary bond

Dries quickly

Great for adhering glitter

Blue when wet; clear when dry

10 grams

Chisel tip

Washes off skin with soap and water

Acid free

Quick Trick

Need a temporary bond for a stencil or mask? Or do you need a permanent bond for a card or page? Look no further than the 2-Way Glue Pen.

1. Wet bond (permanent bond): While the glue is still blue and wet, immediately make the bond. Use a wet bond when you apply glitter.

2. Dry bond (temporary): Apply glue lightly and wait for the adhesive to dry (it will become clear). Use this method when masking or positioning stencils. When you are finished, you can remove the bond easily.

FYI

To start the 2-Way Glue Pen, push the tip in a few times and allow the glue to saturate the tip (the tip will turn blue). Always replace the cap after use.

FYI

For best long-term care of your ring albums, always open them by pulling on the middle rings and close by pressing on the top and bottom rings simultaneously. A stain-resistant finish is applied to linen albums to help repel dirt. If you need to clean the album, use a clean, white cotton cloth and warm water. Do not use a cleanser. Gently brush in all directions. Scrubbing vigorously or back and forth over a small area will wear the fabric. Even with a stain-resistant finish, linen albums can become stained. We do not recommend using them in conditions where they might become dirty, such as recipe books or school binders.

To use, carefully squeeze the barrel of the painter. If too much pressure is applied, liquid may come out too fast. For best results, empty the barrel and wipe moisture from the brush tip for storage.

You can place 8 cc of water or water-soluble liquid (with the consistency of water) in the refillable reservoir.

Do not place liquid acrylics or shellac-based ink in the reservoir.

Page 15: 2011 IBC Product Guide AU-NZ

Product Guide: 2011–2012 Idea Book & Catalogue (AU/NZ) 15

Steel-ruled dies have sharp edges—handle with care. When cutting intricately-detailed images, paper (or other material) may become caught in the die. Remove carefully to prevent ripping. Not all materials will work well with some designs. Experiment a bit with your dies and materials to make sure you get the cutting results you want.

Circle Scissor Plus

Features & Benefits

Quickly draws or cuts perfect circles

Adjusts to make circles from 2.5 cm to 15.3 cm

Easily cuts through paper and card stock

Large, 28 cm base with gripper feet ensures that tool doesn’t slip

Includes

Base

2 cutting blades

Cutting handle

Adjustable drawing handle; will adjust to fit standard pen and pencil sizes; works great with Stampin’ Write markers

Blade can be replaced without touching it

Includes instructions for cutting, drawing, and changing the blade

Replacement blades available (sold separately; 3 per package)

Use with Glass Mat (sold separately)

Quick Trick

If you love the look of circle frames, you don’t need to buy separate die-cut circle frames or rings. When cutting rings, first cut the smaller circle (or the centre of the ring); don’t move the cutter. Make sure it stays in place while you adjust the size for the outside circle of your ring, then cut again. Keeping the cutter in place the whole time is the key to making perfect rings. You’ll end up with a custom frame or ring in the size and colour you want. For a great look, you can cut circles of different sizes in coordinating paper and layer them on your scrapbook pages.

Upsell Opportunity

Glass Mat, Replacement Blades

FYI

Always use with the Glass Mat. Using the Circle Scissor Plus with a self-healing mat may produce poor results. Glass mats allow the blade to “float” across the cutting surface for a cleaner, better cut. For best results, cut though a single sheet of paper or card stock at a time. You may want to adhere your paper to the Glass Mat with temporary adhesive to prevent it from slipping on the mat. The gripper base is not sized to fully grip the edges of anything smaller than 15.3 cm, and you may find your smaller pieces of paper spinning around instead of cutting. To cut paper smaller than 15.3, lightly tack it to the Glass Mat using temporary adhesive.

Page 28: 2011 IBC Product Guide AU-NZ

Product Guide: 2011–2012 Idea Book & Catalogue (AU/NZ) 28

The Circle Scissor Plus works best when you’re standing up and when you keep your arm parallel to the tool. This helps distribute the weight and pressure on the cutter evenly, resulting in the cleanest cut and the most perfect circle. Cut at a regular speed (not too slowly or too quickly), using light pressure. Avoid pushing down hard.

Clean most inks from acrylic block using Stampin’ Mist

Upsell Opportunity

Clear Block Caddy, Stampin’ Mist

FYI

To adhere the stamp to the clear block, press it on the block using moderate pressure and hold for a few moments.

Stamps will adhere best to a clean block. Although you don’t need to clean the block after each use, you’ll need to clean it occasionally so the stamps adhere well.

You can remove most ink stains from the block using Stampin’ Mist.

Do not use StazOn cleaner on the blocks. StazOn cleaner will leave an oily residue on the blocks, making it difficult for stamps to adhere to the block. Avoid staining the blocks with StazOn ink.

Crimper

Features & Benefits

Crimps material up to 16.5 cm wide

Crimps Card Stock, Designer Series Paper, On Board chipboard, tissue paper, wrapping paper, and more—if it will fit between the rollers, is flexible enough to bend, and can hold a crease, you can crimp it

Metal and plastic construction

Comfort-molded handle and turnkey

Requires very little hand pressure

Quick Tricks

Fold paper in half and run it through the Crimper at a 45 degree angle. When you unfold the paper, you’ll have a fun herringbone pattern.

Run paper through once, and then turn it 90 degrees and run it through again. This gives you a soft waffle pattern.

Emboss card stock with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder, run it through the Crimper, and you have faux corrugated tin (perfect for masculine projects). Just sprinkle Stampin’ Emboss Powder over the paper and heat using the Heat Tool, and then sprinkle on additional powder while the image is still hot and reheat. Repeat at least three times, and then run the embossed card stock through the Crimper while the embossing powder is still warm.

FYI

For the straightest and tightest crimp, place your index finger at the top of the handle and firmly squeeze the handle while crimping. For paper larger than 16.5 cm wide, fold before feeding through the rollers. Make sure your paper is inserted straight into the Crimper. If your paper goes into the Crimper crooked, the crimped paper will have a slanted textured image. Arrows on the front of the Crimper show you the proper direction to insert the paper, and guides on the side help you line up the paper.

Punches 3 mm and 5 mm holes

Punches easily through card stock, chipboard, fabric, leather, and other thick materials

Top block includes

5 mm eyelet setting spring-loaded post with concave setting surface

Base block includes

5 mm eyelet flare

Medium flare

3 mm eyelet flare

Conical multiuse flare

Made of hardened steel

Upsell Opportunity

On Board Chipboard, Card Stock

FYI

Be sure to read the instructions that are packaged with the Crop-A-Dile. Failure to follow usage instructions can damage the Crop-A-Dile and may void the manufacturer’s warranty.

Don’t be intimidated by the Crop-A-Dile’s appearance—it’s actually very simple to use. You just need to remember a few things:

Make sure you use the correct settings when you set eyelets (see the instructions that come

with the packaging to see the proper way to set eyelets). If you put the eyelet in upside down

and then set it, it will crimp onto your Crop-A-Dile instead of onto your card stock.

The Crop-A-Dile will punch through materials such as chipboard, leather, and thin tin, but won’t punch through stronger metals, such as stainless steel.

The top block is lettered, and the base block is numbered. For setting A1 for example, you would set the top block to A and the base block to 1.

Punching Holes

The hole punches have adjustable guides so you can set the depth that you want to punch holes, from 3.2 mm to 2.5 cm from the edge of your paper. Simply turn the screw on the hole punch to loosen the guide, slide the guide to the desired depth, and then tighten the screw.

Page 39: 2011 IBC Product Guide AU-NZ

Product Guide: 2011–2012 Idea Book & Catalogue (AU/NZ) 39

Setting Eyelets

Before you set your eyelets, make sure the eyelet and Crop-A-Dile are both right-side up. The top of the eyelet must align with the top block; do not set the eyelet if the shank is touching the top block.

1. Punch the correct size hole for your eyelet. 2. Set the blocks on your Crop-A-Dile to the correct setting. (For 3 mm eyelets, use setting C3; for 5

mm eyelets, use setting A1. See your product packaging for more information.) Make sure the blocks snap into place.

3. Place your eyelet in the hole you punched. 4. Make sure the top of the eyelet aligns with the top block, then squeeze the Crop-A-Dile handle.

Dries completely within an hour, depending on how thickly it is applied

Quick Trick

Simply apply a thick line of Crystal Effects to the outline of your stamped image. After the line has dried, add a thinner coat of Crystal Effects to the inside area of what was outlined.

Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill

FYI

Crystal Effects can be used with any stamped image that has been coloured with any medium: Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Stampin’ Write Markers, Stampin’ Pastels and Stampin’ Pads.

Recap after use to prevent the tip from drying and clogging.

Allow approximately one hour drying time.

For best results, use Crystal Effects within one year of purchase.

Precision files fit inside areas that are too small for sanding blocks, such as the inside areas of On Board letters

Sanding block, emery board, and precision files are great for smoothing edges of card stock or Designer Series Paper that has been adhered to On Board chipboard

Distressing ink is water-based and blendable

Distressing ink contains alcohol; do not use in scrapbooks

Comes in soft plastic case

FYI

To get an aged look with the distressing ink, you’ll need to mist the ink with water either before or after you apply it to your project. The water will cause the ink to dilute and bleed, resulting in a vintage appearance.

To get a subtle ink stain look, use the flat stamp to apply the vintage ink to your projects. (If you apply the ink directly from the spot to the paper, the ink will look too concentrated.) Dab the ink pad on the flat stamp and rub it over your paper. You can mist the ink while it’s on the stamp and then apply it to your project, or you can apply it to your project and then mist the ink.

You can also use an Aqua Painter to apply the ink directly to a stamped image (be sure to use a waterproof ink like StazOn on your stamped image before colouring it with distressing ink).

Vintage inks contain alcohol, so they are not recommended for scrapbooking.

The inks work best on paper that has been crinkled or embossed. Crumple card stock or paper into a ball, and then smooth it out. Dab the ink on your stamp and rub it over the card stock. The ink will be thicker on the creases in the paper, resulting in an aged, distressed look. To intensify the distressed look, lightly mist your card stock with water so the ink bleeds. After the card stock dries, you can sand the edges to distress your project even more.

Glass Mat

Features & Benefits

33 x 33 cm glass cutting surface

Use with Circle Scissor Plus

Allows cutting blade to glide without dragging or skipping

FYI

If you have the Circle Scissor Plus, you’ll need to purchase the Glass Mat. The Circle Scissor Plus doesn’t work well on a standard self-healing cutting mat—the cutting blade gets caught, creating circles with ragged edges. Stampin’ Up!’s Glass Mat allows the blade to glide smoothly as you cut, leaving perfect circles.

Because the Glass Mat is hard (not soft, like a self-healing mat) you might feel as if you should push harder on it while cutting. You do not need to apply additional pressure.

To clean the Glass Mat, just use a little window cleaner or baby wipe.

Do not use rubbing alcohol on the back of the mat (the side with the printing). Rubbing alcohol will remove the printed grid.

The Glass Mat is made from tempered glass and is much stronger than regular glass. The steel blade of the Circle Scissor Plus will not cut into the glass; however, if you cut thousands of times in the same place, the area will eventually become scratched. This should not affect the performance or life of the Glass Mat.

Upsell Opportunity

Card Stock, Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Stampin’ Mist, Stampin’ Pastels, Stampin’ Write markers, Stampin’ Scrub

FYI

Craft ink is thicker than our Classic (dye-based) ink, so you use more each time you stamp; we recommend keeping an ink refill handy so you can re-ink the pads.

Let Craft ink dry or heat set before adding photos or other embellishments.

Clean stamps immediately after stamping.

You’ll get better results on fabric if the pad is well inked. Be sure to hold the inked stamp on the fabric for at least 30 seconds. For best results when stamping on fabric, use a tightly woven or smooth finished fabric and heat set. Line-dry stamped fabrics to avoid fading. Always pretest the ink on a small swatch of fabric, as fabric finishes vary greatly. Be sure to prewash all of your fabrics before stamping.

Ink, VersaMark Pad, Refills, and VersaMarker

Features & Benefits

Quick Trick

For a special effect, stamp with VersaMark Ink on a light-coloured card stock, then use a Brayer to apply ink over the stamped design. The first design will resist the second application of ink, producing a shadowy look.

VersaMark Ink is great for the Poppin’ Pastels technique. Stamp the image with VersaMark Ink. Apply Stampin’ Pastels to the stamped image with a stamping sponge or sponge dauber. Blend and mix pastels for beautiful effects.

Mat Pack

Features & Benefits

Set of 10.2 x 10.2 cm pads

Includes 3 pads:

A paper-piercing pad to protect surfaces

A piercing template for even spacing

A mini cutting mat with grid lines

Portable and compact

Protects your work surfaces

Upsell Opportunity

Paper-Piercing Tool

FYI

The mini cutting mat is referred to as “self-healing” because the material with which it is made minimises the effect and appearance of cuts to its surface. Once cut, the mat does not reformulate itself into one solid piece of material.

Eyelet setting may leave ring marks and holes in the mini cutting mat surface. This does not affect the use for which this mat was intended—protecting counters and other surfaces. If you don’t want to see these marks, simply turn the mat over and use the back side for punching and setting the eyelets.

The best way to place Mini Glue Dots is to press your project against the Mini Glue Dot dispenser—you don’t even need to touch the Mini Glue Dots!

FYI

Size of dots may vary plus or minus 2 mm.

Press the paper or object onto the dot, then pull it away; the dot will adhere to the object. Don’t try to pull the dot off the liner paper with your hands—it will stick to you and not the paper!

Includes 2 trays and a brush

Large tray size, 25.4 x 35.6 x 2.5 cm; small tray size 15.2 x 20.3 x 2.5 cm

Comes with a brush for cleanup

Upsell Opportunity

Embossing Buddy, Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Stampin’ Glitter

FYI

Before using your Powder Pals for the first time, wash the trays with a good degreasing dishwashing liquid. (The manufacturing/molding process leaves a film on the tray that needs to be removed.) After the Powder Pals are washed, avoid touching the inside; oils from your hands can leave a residue.

The Embossing Buddy (or antistatic dryer sheets and sprays) can also prevent static from building up on your Powder Pals. Use the brush to remove the last little bit of powder or glitter. Spraying the brush with antistatic spray keeps it from collecting any residue.

FYI

Sharpen punches by punching through aluminum foil. Smooth punches by punching through waxed paper.

Punches are not meant to cut multiple sheets of paper at once. Cut only one sheet of paper at a time.

These punches are not designed to hold in your hand (with the exception of the 1/16" Circle Punch). You’ll get best results if you place the punch on a table and press straight down, applying pressure firmly and evenly. If you try to hold it in your hand and squeeze it to punch, it will be very hard to press, and it might pinch your hand.

Tips for using the Petal Card Double Punch:

If you apply enough pressure, you can cut and score in one punch. If you want deeper score marks, press the punch firmly.

Because of the punch functionality, stamp sets that coordinate with this punch were not necessarily designed to be stamped and then punched.

To extend the life of the punch lock, squeeze the punch tightly before sliding the lock. Tips for using Triple Layer Punches:

Each punch includes instructions, but here’s a quick overview: slide the selector button on the front of the punch to the design you want, place the punch on a flat surface, insert one piece of paper or card stock, and press down. You’ll feel the punch “give” as many times as your selector

indicates; that is, if you’ve selected the second image, you should feel it twice. If you don’t feel it he number of times you’ve selected, the punched image isn’t complete.

If you want to stamp on a punched image, you’ll need to do that after you’ve punched it (you can use the Stamp-a-ma-jig for precise placement). Because of the design of the punch, you can’t turn it over to view and adjust the paper that will be punched.

When inserting your paper, tip it slightly toward the top of the punch. This will help the paper slide into place, above the bottom platform of the punch.

Make sure that the lever is securely locked into the correct position when selecting the image you want to punch. If the lever is not placed correctly, you will not be able to punch the correct image.

The punch needs to be in the third position to close and lock the punch. To lock the punch, press it together tightly and slide the locking lever on the bottom.

To unlock the punch, close the punch tightly before unlocking the lever on the bottom of the punch.

If you want to use the negative portion of punched card stock, use the first setting. The negative portion of the third image will become damaged during the punching process. This is due to the force/pressure the punch exerts in order to complete the design shown on the third image as well as the mechanical requirements necessary to hold the punch in place. This is not a defect with the punch. The negative image on the first punch is the same as on the third punch, which means a high quality negative image is always available for use.

Shimmer Paint

Features & Benefits

Pigment ink with a touch of shimmer

Available in 3 colours: Champagne Mist, Frost White and Platinum

Champagne Mist and Frost White are translucent—wash them over your project and you’ll get a delicate layer of shine that’s more understated than glitter

Platinum is opaque—it will cover your surface completely, so you’ll want to use it as an accent colour instead of using it to cover your project

You can do almost anything with it that you can do with ink—you can stamp with it, cover an entire section of card stock or paper with it, or apply it over a stamped image or Rub-On

Apply it with a sponge or sponge dauber directly to a stamp or paper

14 g each

Nontoxic

Upsell Opportunity

Sponge Daubers, Stamping Sponges

FYI

To stamp with shimmer paint, apply a thin layer of paint to the stamp using a Sponge Dauber or Stamping Sponge and then stamp as usual (don’t overload the dauber or the paint will seep into the recessed areas of the stamp). Because Champagne Mist and Frost White are translucent, images you stamp with them will be very light. Images stamped with Platinum Shimmer Paint will be more dramatic.

Shimmer Paint dries quickly; you don’t need to heat set it on paper or most materials.

You can use Shimmer Paint on natural fibre fabrics, such as cotton, wool, silk, etc., but you must heat set it to make it permanent. To heat set the paint, iron the fabric with the iron set at the appropriate temperature for the fabric. Once the paint is heat set, the Shimmer Paint will not wash off or smear.

Works great with stencils—just place the stencil on your surface and spray

You can also stamp over it; spray it on a card, let it dry and stamp your image

Dries quickly on most surfaces, especially on porous surfaces like card stock

Safe for scrapbooks

Acid free, nontoxic

Upsell Opportunity

Color Catcher, Mini Vintage Tags

FYI

Shake well before using.

Spray as much or as little as you want to get the look you want. You’ll need to experiment a bit.

For best results, spray 20–25 cm from your project. Spray closer for a heavier saturation.

Like all other mists, Smooch Spritz can overspray (that is, it can land on surfaces other than what you’re spraying). You may want to use it outdoors or place the project you’re spraying in a contained area, such as a box, so the overspray is controlled.

Window Sheets

FYI

The Stamp-a-ma-jig comes with two pieces: the Stamp-a-ma-jig handle and the plastic imaging sheet. The handle has a T-shaped top portion, which makes it easy for right-handed stampers and left-handed stampers. Instructions are included with the Stamp-a-ma-jig, but here’s a basic overview to help you understand how it works.

1. Align the plastic sheet in the T-shaped top of the Stamp-a-ma-jig, making sure that the corner of the sheet is placed squarely into one corner of the Stamp-a-ma-jig.

2. Stamp your image on the sheet, placing the stamp squarely in the corner of the Stamp-a-ma-jig. 3. Place the stamped plastic sheet on your project where you want the stamped image to be. 4. Keeping the plastic sheet in place, place the Stamp-a-ma-jig on the stamped corner of the plastic

sheet. 5. While holding the Stamp-a-ma-jig in place, remove the plastic sheet, place the stamp in the corner

of the Stamp-a-ma-jig, and stamp on your project. If you have a favourite set that needs the Stamp-a-ma-jig, you can make permanent image sheets to keep in the stamp case. Cut Window Sheets into small squares and stamp images from that set on the sheets using the Stamp-a-ma-jig and StazOn ink. Put those Window Sheets in the stamp case, and then when you go to stamp, you already have your stamps lined up on the Window Sheets.

Stampin’ Around Wheel Guide

Features & Benefits

Never worry about crooked Stampin’ Around images again

Two 30.5 x 30.5 cm rulers snap together to make a 55 cm straight edge or a right angle corner

Works with Stampin’ Around wheels to create straight lines of wheeled art

Clear rulers allow you to view artwork

Quick Trick

To mitre corners:

1. Snap the wheel guide together to form a right angle and then lay the guide directly on your paper so that the outside corner of the guide aligns with a corner of your paper.

2. Make a light pencil mark in the inside corner of the guide. Mark all four corners of the page accordingly. Place triangular sticky notes as masks in a diagonal line between pencil marks and page corners so the mask covers the triangular area described.

3. Align the edge of the guide with two of the pencil markings and wheel close to the edge of the guide from one masked corner to the next. Move the guide to the opposite side and wheel the pattern again.

4. Move the masks to the other half of each corner and wheel the remaining two sides. You can use the Stampin’ Around wheel guide to help you measure and design patterns. Use the ruler marks along the edge of the guide to measure layout dimensions. Use lengthwise line markings to align images with those already stamped. Use the middle line to create a 1" space for alternating patterns.

FYI

Before you use the Wheel Guide for the first time, peel off the release paper from the rubber feet and attach the feet to the eight shaded areas (four on each guide) on the underside corners.

Clean the Wheel Guide with mild soap and warm water. Store the unassembled Stampin’ Around Wheel Guide in its original vinyl sleeve with the instruction card for future reference.

Quick Trick

Blend and mix pastels for beautiful effects.

FYI

Due to the manufacturing process, a film may sometimes appear on the top of the Stampin’ Pastels. Simply rub this film off with an applicator.

These high-quality pastels are very soft to enable easy blending. However, due to this softness, breakage or cracking may occur in shipping. This is not considered a defect and does not affect the pastels’ quality or ease of use. Our unique pastel tray keeps colours from mixing together if breakage does occur.

Upsell Opportunity

Stampin’ Mist, Stampin’ Mist Refill, Stampin’ Scrub Refill Pads

FYI

To use, lightly spray one pad with our Stampin’ Mist and leave the other one dry. For best results, do not oversaturate the pad. Scrub your stamp on the damp pad, and then rub it on the dry pad to remove any leftover ink and moisture. Now you’re ready to either change colours or to put your stamps away.

Clean pads regularly to avoid mixing ink colours. Cleaning the removable pads is a snap—just rinse out the pads and allow to air dry.

The case is not leak-proof. We recommend that you lightly dampen the pads with the Stampin’ Mist to avoid oversaturation, excess spattering when scrubbing the stamps, and leaking when transporting the closed case.

Rinse pads in clear water and air dry before first use to remove filaments left from manufacturing process. For best results, use a paper towel or a dry cloth to soak up water after rinsing.

Do not place in dishwasher.

Two symbols are embossed on the inside of the trays. An umbrella symbol on the top tray indicates the dry tray; three raindrops on the bottom tray indicate the wet tray.
