Session 1



“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind.” Matthew 22:37

“There is no longer a Christian mind.”

“Christianity is emasculated of its intellectualrelevance. It remains a vehicle of spirituality and

moral guidance at the individual level perhaps; at the communal level it is little more than an

expression of sentimentalized togetherness. The

mental secularization of Christians means that nowadays we meet only as worshipping beings and

as moral beings, not as thinking beings.”



“To ‘think Christianly’ is to accept all things with the mind asrelated, directly or indirectly, to man's eternal destiny as the

redeemed and chosen child of God.” -Blamires

“To ‘think secularly’ is to think within a frame of reference

bounded by the limits of our life on earth: it is to keep one'scalculations rooted in this-worldly criteria.”

It is not a mind focused on one’s utter dependence uponGod; a mind in active pursuit of God’s destiny for one’s

life.



“I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made… Your eyes have seen my

unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.”

Psalm 139:14-16

“I will give thanks “Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of

our Lord… 9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but

according to His own purpose…” 2 Timothy 1:8-9



"You did not choose Me but I chose you, andappointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and

that your fruit would remain…” John 15:16

Amplified: “For we are God’s [own] handiwork, recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God

predestined for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time],that we should walk in them [living the good life which he prearranged

and made ready for us to live].”

When you are engaging your calling, the Lord

your God is with you.

“But Moses said to God, ‘Who am I that I should go toPharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of

Egypt?’ So He said, ‘I will certainly be with you…’”

not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God is with you, whobrought you up from the land of Egypt.” Deuteronomy 20:1(Moses to the people)

Moral of the story:

God has called each you with utter specificity He has given you giftings, talents, resources and spheres of

influence

He has raised you up as leaders and emerging leaders of thisspecific city

He wants us to pursue the knowledge of His will

He has placed passions upon your hearts – individual

passions that are connected with God’s heart for the city, wemust simply think strategically and in unity on how all these

pieces fit.



God’s work is a symphony and you are his orchestra.

The God of the Impossible is with you as you play!
