This Whitepaper is to oversee potential areas of use of our systems for professional industrial data processingfor processing the image sequences in near realtime to provide creative and reliable multimodal visionsystems for the industry in several areas.
Within our system potential we track and analyze the motion of object in digital image sequences.The movement of objects is captured with a camera (simple camera, video camera or high speed camera) andtransferred to a CPU based on a PC or Embedded System.
The detection as much as analysis of the position of the objects is affected by the use of highly sophisticatedmethods of pattern recognition.
This completely supports and obviates the need for manual data input.
Basic Process
The basic processing is very simple

We support fully automated detection of the object position
As input we could use sequences from high speed cameras, high resolution cameras or conventional video
cameras as well camcorders and videotape recorders or embedded devices (like iPhone)
Output might be a graphic display of speed, acceleration and angels
Other output might be files for off-line analysis of the measured data
Events could be to logon to a pc system, open a door or to set memory to detect people.
It is important to understand that:
Objects can be tracked without using a dedicated marker
That we support Subpixel accuracy

The numerous advanced features of Data-Warehouse GmbH Complex Algorithmic Vision Technologies(CAVT) the integration bench include options for preprocessing the image sequences. Various different typesof filters (e.g. edge filters or contrast enhancement or gamma correction) can be utilized and integratedapplying a preprocessing filter facilitates the analysis of captured sequences.
2D Calibration and MeasurementCAVT integration bench includes and offers the simple and fast scaling of the data to be analyse daccording tovarious unit of measurement (Pixel, mm, m, inch, etc.).
3D Calibration
The calculation of volumetric coordinates requires the use of at least two synchronized cameras.Nevertheless a 3D-version the integration bench includes the capability to visualize and to calibrate video datafrom a maximum of 10 cameras and calculates the position of the objects in all three dimensions.This currently only possible in offline mode at the moment.
Objects and TrackingWith CAVT integration bench the regions of the image sequence to be tracked are marked with so-calledobjects. This allows us that we can choose from various object forms and colors. In addition, there is nolimitation regarding the number of objects. Which can be set in one frame Objects can be connected witheach other and it is possible to create angles between objects. This way an analysis of the changes of theangles can be performed while the connections between objects lead to generated of stick figures which, inturn, deliver truly lifelike results in the analysis windows
TrackingOnce objects have been marked CAVT integration bench it will automatically recognizes the position of thesein the subsequent frames. This frees to intervene interactively in the process of tracking - at any time.CAVT integration bench offers a range of algorithms for automatic tracking and a feature for manual trackingwhich could be integrated within the target systems and platforms
Capabilitys for Analysis
Once tracking of objects has been completed the user selects the coordinates thatare of interest for his project. CAVT integration bench calculates the trajectories and displays them in theanalysis windows. Alternatively an analysis can be conducted concurrently with the tracking of the objects, sothat the generation of the trajectories can be viewed on the screen.
Object Models
The range of options is provided by the CAVT integration bench, this may include Datesets with various objectmodels. In addition futher models can be edited and included to support more complex Object ModelsBody model and objects are assigned to each other enabling calculation as well as analysis of forces,moments and centers of mass with occur for example with human movement. Subpixel Accuracy
The accuracy of the detection of object positions and the resulting analysis is made in parts of a pixel. Thishighly precise position detection especially improves the measuring accuracy of the calculation of velocitiesand accelerations.
