TNF Trustees' Report

TNF Chennai, over the last three decades, has implemented about 560 projects, in accordance with its objectives, to render assistance to the needy. In 2012 – 13, we have received ̀ 13753745.00 and spent appx. ̀ 12272882.00 for the 41 projects under implementation. Details of a few major projects are presented hereunder (Project name, Location, Amount received, Total Cost – values in ̀ Lakhs):

TNF TNC has identified “Empowering Youth” as one of the major thrust areas, by providing Training and Workshops to impart soft skills to succeed. 450 youth have been further trained to better their employability. Special coaching in 18 schools covering 1200 students was organized during this year.

The Genetic lab has carried out Genetic testing and counseling to more than 200 needy patients in Tamil Nadu.

Our efforts to generate additional funds to improve the four areas of our work mainly in rural belt are progressing. TNF is actively considering donor sponsored projects – Mother India Nursery and Primary School at Thanjavur and Government High School, Jaganathapuram at Thiruvallur for construction of school buildings and also Water tank project at Peranamallur at Thiruvannamalai district for implementation.

Chairman, Trustees, Center Coordinator and President TNF USA visited Laia Foundation at Vedanthangal a major community based Overseas project.

A seven minute film on the “Success stories of TNF” was produced. A Computer Lab was constructed at St. Joseph Matriculation School, Thanjavur and handed over to the School Management.

Chairman, Trustees, Treasurer and Executive Director went on an exposure visit to NTTF, Bangalore to initiate short term job skill training programmes at TNF center for rural and urban Youth.

We wish to place on record our appreciation for the services rendered by the TNF Chennai Team.

We thank the TNF Members and other Donors who have supported us in carrying out the objectives of TNF.

Though we have made progress over the years, as we go along, we feel this is only a beginning.
