Resource Recovery Project
What is the Resource Recovery Project?
Printed using petroleum free inks and green electricity, on 100% recycled paper, to international environmental standards.
Local councils have introduced recycling bins, greenwaste recycling and a range of waste education programs to encourage residents to reduce waste to landfill. The Resource Recovery Project seeks to complement these existing waste management solutions by providing a more sustainable solution to managing the waste left over after we have reduced, re-used and recycled our waste. There are two facets to EMRC’s Resource Recovery Project: a resource recovery facility to treat waste and generate compost and/or energy; and a resource recovery
park, designed to process, dismantle, reuse and recycle the community’s discarded materials (such as timber and household bulk waste) and commercial waste. The Resource Recovery Project is aimed at having a fully operational resource recovery solution in place by approximately 2016. The diagram below illustrates EMRC’s vision for an integrated waste solution in Perth’s Eastern Region. For the latest updates on the Resource Recovery Project, see the regular newspaper updates, or click on the Resource Recovery tab at www.emrc.org.au
