Where do I park? There is parking available both on campus as well as at Columbus Elementary School and Proctor High School that are roughly adjacent to MVCC. Parking on city streets should only be done where legal. Please do not park on people’s lawns or block driveways; we pride ourselves on being good neighbors. Please have patience as tens of thousands of people will be attending this year. Be aware that streets may be closed with the running of the Kid’s Run on Saturday morning.

Always make sure to lock your car!

Can I sign up for the 5k or 15k races at the Expo? Sorry, both these races sold out over 3 months ago. Registration for the 2013 Boilermaker will open in early January.

Where will running bib pickup be? Running bib pickup will be in the MVCC gym for both the 15k and 5k races. Expo exhibitors will be located in the Robert R. Jorgensen Athletic Events Center, adjacent in the same building as the large new field house next to MVCC’s gym.

Can someone else pick up my running bib? Yes. However, you must have a photocopy of a photo ID with a signoff that their bib can be picked up by some other than themselves.

When is the Utica National Kid’s Run registration? Kid’s Run registration will take place Friday July 6th at the Alumni College Center Building from noon-3:00 p.m. A total of 1,800 entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. There is no cost to participate. Full Kid’s Run information will be distributed on signup day. The Kid’s Run begins at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday July 7th.

Distance Course Participants: (Age & Distances)

For safety no strollers are allowed on the courses. No flip-flops, sandals, or heelies allowed for runners. We stress strongly enough that this is a fun run- not a race! Let’s keep the pushing, skinned knees, and crying down to a minimum.

What’s in the goody bag?

Besides the traditional Boilermaker pint glass and Program Book (this year our biggest with the most stories) there will be a variety of free samples from companies catering to runners. While we strive to have the same items in all 18,000 goody bags frequently we end up with suppliers cannot provide those quantities. Companies that have provided products are: Aquaphor, Zeasorb, Shave Secret, Sports Authority, Dole, ABCO spices, Dole, emusic, Peter’s Cornucopia, and Vaseline. Bottom line, you may not get the same stuff someone else did but you’ll get stuff! In a salute to our past the first 5,000 people to pick up their bags will receive a coupon good for a free box of pasta from Price Chopper. Pickup point for 5k and 15k runners goody bags will be at the same area in Jorgenson.
