Welcome to IMA International’s 29th annual brochure. It is a little different this year to allow for the fast changing nature of development and still provide you with a steady timetable of courses on offer throughout the year. We can provide a printed version of this brochure if you desire it so please do write and tells us the best address to send it to. Otherwise it is available at www.imainternational.com so you can read it online and forward to your friends, colleagues, training managers, finance departments, not forgetting your social media contacts on the likes of LinkedIn, Skype and of course Facebook friends!

As we move into our 29th year our values and reasons for doing what we do become ever more important. We want you to really understand why we do what we do. If you understand why we deliver training and offer consultancy services worldwide then you will know how we can help you and why we are the preferred partner for development organisations all over the world.

At IMA International we want to work with development professionals everywhere to help them reach their potential and make a difference to the people they serve. It’s that simple.

If you feel that this could serve you and your organization well then please, check our website, sign up for monthly updates, talk to us and let us know how we can help you serve the development sector. In all that we do you will

notice our underlying core values of professionalism, diversity, participation and friendliness.

This brochure highlights our core scheduled, training courses worldwide and provides a list of key topics that IMA International are offering to you in 2012. We have further developed our Monitoring and Evaluation training, including a slimmed down 5 day version, and backed this up with a new five day Results – Based Management and our increasingly popular Results – Based Monitoring and Evaluation courses. You will find Project Cycle Management courses on offer providing the very best training to support your skills in this area at every key point from Planning through Design, Implementation, Evaluation and Learning. Further work in this suite of courses includes Knowledge Management, a popular and dynamic addition throughout 2011 with our partners in this field at the HIV/AIDS Alliance. Throughout 2012 watch out for new courses in the field of Markets for the Poor and Value for Money, amongst others.

People management, leadership development, organisational coherence and retreat management have formed a key part of our service to the development community over the last 12 months. Much of this work has taken place as tailored training and facilitation for small teams to large multi country organisations. During 2012 you will be offered scheduled training in Leadership, Managing Change, Essential

Facilitation Skills and Developing Partnerships.

In this 2012 training programme, you will see us offering scheduled, open courses each quarter. You may notice our return to Bangkok in February after a couple of years away; however we do plan to continue in Kuala Lumpur as well, giving you a choice of two popular Asian venues. Cape Town remains an excellent accessible venue in Southern Africa and is now also supported by Dubai as a key hub for participants from Africa, Europe and Asia. Other locations for locally scheduled courses will be announced during the year across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas; as we work closer still with our local facilitators, NGO, Government and private sector networks worldwide.

Good luck with all your development activities during this Olympic year of 2012 and we look forward to working with you and colleagues and further developing your potential to make that very important difference to the people you serve.

Best wishes

Chris Grose Managing Director [email protected]

“Presentations were clear and simply put which helped me understand better the various aspects of RBME. Using one case study throughout the course to apply the concepts was very useful. Looking at the case from the perspective of Government and NGO was very useful and made it more relevant to us that work in bilateral/ multilateral donor agencies”
