About Denison • Denison University was founded in 1831. An independent residential col-

lege of liberal arts and sciences, Denison enrolls approximately 2,100 men and women representing all 50 states and dozens of foreign countries.

• The campus spans 900 acres, including a 550-acre Biological Reserve.

• Denison offers three undergraduate degrees: B.A., B.S., and B.F.A.

• Students can select from 48 majors, programs and concentrations, as well as 11 pre-professional programs.

• An NCAA Division III institution, Denison offers 23 varsity sports for men and women, and has won 121 conference team championships and a record 12 North Coast Athletic Conference All-Sports Championships.

• The Village of Granville, just a short walk from campus, has a population of 3,500 and was founded by settlers from Granville, Mass., in 1805.

• Last year, Ebaugh Laboratories reopened following a spectacular $14.5 million renovation and 19,000-square-foot expansion. Highlights of the cutting-edge science facility include fl exible classroom and laboratory spaces that foster experiential learning for students in chemistry and bio-chemistry.

• A $38.5 million renovation and expansion of the Mitchell Center includes an Olympic-sized pool opened in 2012, and a new two-story, 8,000 square-foot fi tness center to be completed by the spring of 2013. In addition, the Mitchell Center features international squash courts, a regulation Olym-pic 200-meter indoor track and indoor tennis courts, as well as aerobics, strength and fi tness facilities.

• The Bryant Arts Center, renovated and reopened in 2009, provides an inspiring space for the creation of studio art and the study of art history, and includes a state-of-the-art digital media lab. It has been awarded the prestigious Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certifi cation by the U.S. Green Building Council.

• The innovative Burton D. Morgan Center is the hub of campus life, bringing together students, faculty, staff and alumni. A gateway to the Reese~Shackelford Common, the Morgan Center features the Welsh Hills Room for receptions and dinners and the Faculty Common area.

• Samson Talbot Hall of Biological Science is named after Denison’s fi fth president. As the newest building in the university’s Science Quadrangle, Talbot features fl exible teaching labs and interactive lecture and seminar rooms and is crowned by a spectacular greenhouse.

• The F.W. Olin Science Hall was completed in 1995 and includes a 42-seat planetarium with a computerized Zeiss projector, a laser spectrometer, com-puter clusters and an enormous collection of minerals, rocks and fossils.

• The Denison Biological Reserve is a natural laboratory for bioecologists, and its Polly Anderson Field Station houses classroom and laboratory study spaces for students of astronomy, biology, ecology and environmental studies.
