Daniel Zvereff is an anomaly. In a sport that is increasingly dominated by athletes that try, from the time

they step on a skateboard, to become the next super-skate-celebrity. Sponsorship, contest winnings, and

reality TV shows are the end goals. But Daniel, as talented as he is on a skateboard, has chased a different

dream. The dream of traveling the world, seeing things beyond one’s scope of experience, skateboarding

in places that many people didn’t know existed, let alone had skate spots. Believe it or not, Skateboarding

once existed in the wild. When you had to depend on your instincts, an openness to different possibilities,

and your willingness to risk a little bit to have some fun. In that respect, Daniel is our hero, which is why

we decided to lead off this book with his photos, drawings, and words. He is everything that GoldCoast is

about. Get out in to the world, risk a little bit, have some fun. We hope you enjoy this book.

5352 CONTAX T2The Contax T2 is the Kate Moss of point and shoots, simple, slim, and the pinnacle of sex appeal in the early 90’s. The

confidence you feel when you pull this beauty out for a picture, whether a quick snapshot or composed piece, is undeniable.

The Porche Designed body is solid and the mechanics are as smooth as the aluminum. And then there is the lens. The

Contax T2 was renowned for its Carl Zeiss T* multi-coated Sonnar 2.8/38 lens. It is as crisp as a November morning, and

shot wide open, produces as good a portrait as some of my 50mm 1.4 lenses. The uniqueness does not end there, because

it features both fully automated modes as well as full manual control, with aperture adjustment around the lens and focus

control on the top of the body. So you have a camera that is easy to carry, shoots beautifully, will give you complete control,

or take over and do the heavy lifting for you. The Contax T2 is one of the cameras that never leaves our side when we’re

on the road.
