DUNCAN LIVESTOCK PROSPECT STEER AND HEIFER SALE, PART 4 Welcome to the Duncan Livestock Prospect Steer and Heifer Sale. We are offering our 15 best calves. No calves have been sold prior to the sale. We would like to thank our buyers from our 2011 sale. Austin & Ian Drake & Daniel R. Ross, Scott & Matthias Drake, C&C Livestock (Ford & MacQuarrie Families), Glenn Jay (2), Irwin Jay of I F J Farms, Whiskey River Stock Farm (the Loane Family), Jeff Matheson, Spud Island Farms, (the Sanderson Family) (2), Top of the Hill Farm, (the Siddall Family) (2) Bidding Process All bids are to be minimum $50 increments. The bidding process for all cattle runs as a silent auction until a 5 minute warning is given on the animal that sells first and so on. The first lot to sell will be which ever animal has the highest bid in price at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 15th. If there is a tie in price, the animal which is the oldest will sell first. During the final 5 minutes, all bidders can continue to bid on any animal still for sale. After 5 minutes is up, those buyers only with bids in the silent auction on the designated lot will be asked to come forward if they wish to continue bidding in a live bid off for those bidders only. For example on paper, buyer # 100 bid $800 on lot 50, then buyer # 200 bid $850, buyer # 300 bid $900, and before the end of the 5 minute warning, buyer # 400 bids $950. We would then ask buyer #s 100, 200, 300, and 400 to come forward for the live auction. The first option would go to the first bid taken from buyer # 100 for $1000, then next to buyer # 200 for $1050 and so on in $50 increments until one buyer is left who has agreed to the top price. If you have any questions, let us know. Bidders have the option at any time to increase the bidding increment. Vaccinations All calves were weaned at the end of July. Welcome to the Duncan Livestock Prospect Steer and Heifer Sale. We are offering our 15 best

calves. No calves have been sold prior to the sale.

We would like to thank our buyers from our 2011 sale.

Bidding Process

All bids are to be minimum $50 increments. The bidding process for all cattle runs as a silent

auction until a 5 minute warning is given on the animal that sells first and so on. The first lot to

sell will be which ever animal has the highest bid in price at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September

15th. If there is a tie in price, the animal which is the oldest will sell first. During the final 5

minutes, all bidders can continue to bid on any animal still for sale. After 5 minutes is up, those

buyers only with bids in the silent auction on the designated lot will be asked to come forward

if they wish to continue bidding in a live bid off for those bidders only. For example on paper,

buyer # 100 bid $800 on lot 50, then buyer # 200 bid $850, buyer # 300 bid $900, and before

the end of the 5 minute warning, buyer # 400 bids $950. We would then ask buyer #s 100, 200,

Vaccinations

All calves were weaned at the end of July. All calves were vaccinated with modified live

Pyramid 5 with Presponse and Tasvax 8. All calves were treated with Bimectin at different

times during the year. The most recent treatment was on September 3rd. CCIA age

verification birth certificates are available on all calves upon request.

November 2012-2013 Calves

Our next set of calves to come will be sired by the following AI sires Boardwalk, DMM Flex 3M,

Eye Candy, Highliner, Mercedes Benz, Monopoly, and Walks Alone.

Purebred Angus natural service sires were DFCC Bad Boy 51W (Southland Old Skool) (thank you

to Bannockburn Valley Farm and Island Meadow Farm), HMF Dateline 10Y (MVF Dateline 221R)

(thank you to Brian & Dora MacKinley), and KJDF Tombstone 77T (TC Grid Topper 355).

11T is sired by YKBY Guardsman 006L, the highly successful herd sire for Brian & Dora MacKinley that

sired many Easter Beef Champions. 11T is bred back to Eye Candy for a November calf.

9N has been a solid producer for us. We have 2 daughters in the herd including a Who Made Who 2 year

old. Blair Campbell bought 9N’s first steer in our inaugural sale and he stood third in the open Hereford

class at the Easter Beef Show. C&C Livestock purchased her steer calf last year and he went on to be the

2012 PEI Easter Beef Show Champion Shorthorn for Colby MacQuarrie. 9N is bred back to Eye Candy for

a November calf.

39 comes from the 25T female that was the Champion Angus Heifer Calf in both the open Angus show

and Futurity at Old Home Week in 2007 for JEM Farms. 25T also produced the Reserve Champion

Limousin Steer at the 2011 PEI Easter Beef Show for Patti Douglas, the steer was purchased in our 2010

sale by Irwin Jay. 25T is bred back to Eye Candy for a November calf.

our 2009 sale) the 2011 Champion Maine Anjou Steer exhibited by Jaclyn Sanderson (high seller at our

2010 sale.), 2012 1st place open Charolais class Steer exhibited by Daniel R. Ross (second highest seller at

our 2011 sale). Rose was the 2003 Champion Heifer for Brian & Dora MacKinley at the Easter Beef

Show. Rose is bred to Monopoly for a November calf.

Siddall family at our 2011 sale. 46M is bred to Eye Candy for a December calf.

Sale Terms and Conditions

Terms:

All calves sell “as is” with no guarantee of quality, soundness, or fertility.

Cash or satisfactory cheque.

Payment shall be made to the clerk immediately following the sale unless other arrangements are

made.

Release of cattle will be given only when satisfactory settlement has been made by the buyer.

Conditions of Sale:

Each lot will be sold to the highest bidder at the conclusion of the silent auction.

In the event of any dispute, representatives of Duncan Livestock shall have the final decision.

Announcement from representatives of Duncan Livestock on sale day will supersede any

information in the catalogue.

Liability:

All persons who attend this sale do so at their own risk, and the owners and management assume

no liability for accidents that may occur.
