About DowlingFounded in 1955 as part of Adelphi University’s Suffolk Campus, the college purchased the former W.K. Vanderbilt estate in Oakdale in 1962. In 1968 the college was renamed after its chief benefactor, Robert Dowling, a noted city planner and aviator.

Situated on the banks of the Connetquot River on a former Vanderbilt estate, Dowling’s Rudolph Cam-pus in Oakdale is among the nation’s most beautiful. The 105-acre Brookhaven Center is located on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley and features high-tech learning facilities for a broad range of under-graduate and graduate courses. Located within walking distance to the Long Island Rail Road and fea-turing free parking and shuttle bus service, Dowling is easily accessible from both Suffolk and Nassau counties, as well as the five boroughs of New York City.

Did You Know?• Head Coach Kerri McCabe is also the head coach of Dowling women’s lacrosse• Last season, the Golden Lions won their first ever ECC Women’s Soccer Championship• In just their third year of existence, Dowling women’s soccer earned their first bid to the NCAA Tournament in 2007• Dowling’s women’s teams dominated the ECC in 2011-12, winning the conference championship in women’s soccer, volleyball, women’s basketball, and women’s lacrosse.

Did You Know?• LIU Post’s men’s and women’s soccer teams were ranked No. 3 in the NSCAA National Polls the same week earlier this season which was the highest simultaneous ranking in program history. • The No. 1 ranking in the NSCAA poll for the men’s soccer team earlier this season was the highest in program history. • The Pioneers need just two wins to equal the program record for victories in a season.

About Queens:Queens College, located on a beautiful 77-acre campus in Flushing, New York, opened its doors in 1937 with the goal of offering a first-rate education to talented people of all backgrounds and financial means. Part of the City University of New York (CUNY) since its founding in 1961, Queens College is one of CUNY’s largest senior colleges. It enjoys a national reputation for its liberal arts and sciences and professional programs, and was cited in the 2012 edition of The Princeton Review’s The Best 376 Colleges for its academic excellence and generous financial aid packages.
