TIM DeRUYTER Tim DeRuyter was named the 17th head

coach in Fresno State football history on Dec. 14, 2011.

DeRuyter comes to Fresno State with 22 years of experience, 16 of which have been spent as a de-fensive coordinator. He takes over the program after serving the past two seasons as the assistant head coach/defensive coordinator at Texas A&M. There, he also served as the interim head coach for the Ag-gies in the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas against Northwestern on Dec. 31, leading A&M to a 33-22 victory.

DeRuyter hails from a pair of Hall of Fame coaches, as he was mentored by Fisher DeBerry at Air Force and by Chris Ault at Nevada. DeRuyter was a 2010 nominee for the Broyles Award that honors the na-tions top assistant coach, when he was working un-der former Green Bay Packers coach Mike Sherman.

In DeRuyters two seasons with Texas A&M, he did what he has consistently accomplished through-out his career - developing defensive units that are among the best in the nation.

DeRuyter made an immediate impact during his first season in Aggieland as the 2010 squad improved fifty spots in the national rankings for total defense, rising to No. 55 in the country as the resurrected Wrecking Crew helped lead A&M to the Cotton Bowl.

Highlighting a long list of players who ex-celled under DeRuyters scheme was Von Miller, who in addition to earning All-American honors was awarded the 2010 Butkus Award, given annual-ly to the nations most outstanding linebacker. Miller went on to become the second overall pick of the Denver Broncos in the 2011 NFL draft.

In 2011, Texas A&M led the nation with 51 sacks and the Aggies were second in the Big 12 by only allowing 106.0 rushing yards per game.

Before coaching the Aggie defense, DeRuyter spent three years as the defensive coordinator and safeties coach at his alma mater, Air Force. He also held the title of associate coach in 2008 and 2009.

His last year at Air Force saw the Falcons sport one of the top defenses in the country. Air Force ranked 11th in the NCAA in total defense in 2009, allowing just 288.3 yards per game. The secondary, under his watch, ranked fifth in the country by giv-ing up just 154.3 passing yards per game and its 20 interceptions were the seventh-most in the FBS. For the season, Air Force created 34 turnovers to rank No. 5 nationally and the Falcon defense also ranked high nationally in fewest first downs allowed (No. 4 at 14.62 per game), scoring defense (No. 10 at 15.69 points per game) and third-down efficiency (No. 13 at 30.86 percent).

His transformation of the Falcon defense was evident in the fact that the year before he took over, Air Force ranked

70th nationally in turnovers gained, 78th in both total and scoring defense and dead last in third-down defense.

From 2005-06, DeRuyter was the co-defensive coordinator at Nevada while also holding the coaching responsibilities for the safeties and pass defense. At Nevada, the Wolf Pack defense was ranked 79th the year before he took over, but after his final season (2006), the defense was ranked 48th in the NCAA.

DeRuyter served two different stints as the defensive coordi-nator/secondary coach at Ohio, first from 1995-98 and then again from 2002-04. Sandwiched in between is a three-year stop at Navy coaching its secondary.

Ohio had dropped off into a defense that ranked 99th in the country in 2001 without him, but by DeRuyters final season with the Bobcats (2004), Ohios defense was ranked 22nd in the nation in total defense.

The 48-year old coach got his start in the business in 1991, where he served as the JV coach and varsity assistant at Air Force.

DeRuyter has coached in 12 bowl games in his career, including one in each of the past six seasons, and as an outside linebacker at Air Force in the early `80s, he led the Falcons to three-straight bowl victories.

A native of Long Beach, Calif., De-Ruyter was born on Jan. 3, 1963 and graduated from St. John Bosco High School (Bellflower, Calif.) in 1981. He holds a bachelors degree in management from Air Force (1985) and a MBA in market strategy from Regis University (1992).

Upon his graduation from the Air Force Academy, he served seven-and-a-half years of active duty in the Air Force.

DeRuyter and his wife, Kara, have a son, Jake, a freshman at the Air Force Academy, and a daugh-ter, Christina, who is a junior in high school.

DAVE SCHRAMMDave Schramm enters his first season as the offen-sive coordinator and posi-tion coach of the quarter-backs for the Bulldogs. He was hired on Jan. 4, 2012.

Schramm came to Fresno State after spending the past

seven seasons at Utah, where he assumed the roles of coach-

ing the running backs, quarterbacks, tight ends and he also served as the recruiting coordinator and offensive coordinator throughout his tenure with the Utes.

As the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2009, Schramm tutored Jordan Wynn, then a true freshman, to MVP honors at the Poinsettia Bowl. That same year, Schramm coordinated an offensive unit that boasted first-team All-America offensive lineman Zane Beadles, who went on to be-come a second-round draft pick of the Denver Broncos--starting at guard his first two seasons in the NFL.

In 2009, Schramm also oversaw only the second 1,000-yard rushing-re-ceiving tandem in school history in Eddie Wide and David Reed. Wide set a school record for consecutive 100-yard rushing games (six) and Reed broke the school record for receiving yards in a season (1,188). Reed was taken in the fifth round of the NFL Draft by Baltimore.

Schramm spent the 2010 season as the co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach. Utah averaged 33.1 points per game that year under his direc-tion and 29.1 in 2009.

From 2005-08 and again in 2011, Schramm coached the Utes running backs. Utah has only had 11 players rush for 1,000 yards in a season in its 118-year history and three of them were coached directly by Schramm. In 2005, Quinton Ganther ran for 1,120 yards, in 2007 Darrell Mack posted 1,204 yards on the ground and this past season John White ran for 1,519 yards.

Whites 2011 rushing total set a new Utah record for most yards gained in a season and he was a second-team All-Pac-12 honoree and honorable mention SI.com All-American.

He has 15 years of experience as a recruiting coordinator, including his first four seasons at Utah (2005-08). Schramms 2006 and 2008 signing classes were touted as the top non-BCS conference classes in the nation by online recruiting service Rivals.com.

Schramms term at Utah is his second-longest at any school. He spent 12 seasons at San Diego State from 1990-2001, where he was the recruiting coordinator for his first 11 years, and also coached the offensive line (1992), safeties (1993), tight ends (1994-96) and running backs (1997-2001).

With the Aztecs, Schramm coached second-team All-America running back Larry Ned and first-team all-conference safety Ricky Parker.

In 2002, Schramm went to Southwest Texas State as the assistant head coach and running backs coach. There, he coached Lee Davis, the 2002 Southland Conference scoring leader and an all-conference player.

Schramms next stop was Montana, where he coached the offensive tackles and tight ends, and was the recruiting coordinator from 2003-04. Montana went 12-3 in 2004 and advanced to the NCAA Division I-AA championship game. His players included first-team All-America tackle Dylan McFarland,

who later played for the Buffalo Bills, and offensive tackle Cory Proctor, a first-team All-American by Collegesportsreport.com.

Schramms first coaching job was at Patrick Henry High School in San Diego, where he was an assistant from 1984-87. He began

his college coaching career in 1988 at Austin Peay coaching

the running backs and tight ends. He spent a season as a graduate assistant at Nebraska in 1989 coaching the defen-sive secondary.

As a player, his undergraduate career was spent at Cornell (Iowa), Grossmont Junior College and Adams State (Colo.). As a freshman quarterback at Cornell, he led Division III in touchdown passes and helped the Rams to a No. 1 national ranking in total offense. He finished his career at Adams State.

A native of San Diego, Calif., Schramm received a bachelors degree in physical education from San Diego State in 1988. He and his wife, Bonnie, have twin sons, D.J. and Dusty.

Nick Toth (pronounced TOETH) is entering his first season as the defensive coordinator for the Bulldogs and

position coach for the linebackers. He was hired on Jan. 4, 2012.

Toth came to Fresno State from Texas A&M where he was the outside linebackers coach under defensive coordinator Tim DeRuyter, now the head coach at Fresno State. He also was the Aggies special teams coordinator for the past two seasons.

In his first season with the Aggies Toth oversaw the development of linebacker Von Miller, who captured the prestigious Butkus Award during an All-American campaign in 2010. Miller went on to be the No. 2 overall pick of the Denver Broncos in the 2011 NFL Draft.

This past season in 2011, Toth helped direct the A&M defense that led the nation in sacks with 51. Linebackers Sean Porter and Damontre Moore were both named to the All-Big 12 honorable mention team, as the duo led the team with 9.5 and 8.5 sacks, respectively. Both players ranked in the top 25 nationally in 2011 in sacks and tackles for a loss.

Prior to his two seasons at Texas A&M, Toth was the defensive backs coach and special teams coach at The Citadel in 2009.

Toth gained three years of experience working as a defensive coordinator from 2006-08. In 2006, he was the defensive coordinator/defensive backs coach at Mercyhurst (Pa.) college and from 2007-08 he was Ashland (Ohio) Universitys defensive coordinator.

He also comes to Fresno State with great knowledge of the secondary, as he coached the defensive backs at Elon (2005), Ohio (2004) and Dakota State (2002). Toth was also the special teams coordinator at Elon, spent the 2003 season as the tight ends coach at Ohio and he was a defensive graduate assistant with the Bobcasts from 2000-01.

A graduate of Ohio University in 1999 with a bachelors degree in political science, Toth played running back and defensive back for the Bobcats form 1994-99. After graduating, he worked one year on the high school level before returning to Ohio as a graduate assistant. He earned his masters degree in athletic administration from Ohio in 2001.

Toth is a native of Cleveland, Ohio and was born on Oct. 16, 1975. He and his wife, Jennifer, have three sons; Nicholas IV (6), Michael (4) and Johnathon (1).

RON ANTOINERon Antoine is in his first season as the wide receiv-ers coach for the Bulldogs. He was hired on Jan. 20, 2012 after spending the past two seasons at South Alabama.

Serving as the Jaguars wide receiver coach in 2010

and 2011, Antoine led Courtney Smith to a banner year in 2010, as

Smith set a school single-season re-cord with 38 receptions for 592 yards.

Smith became the first individual in program history to be invited to the Se-nior Bowl. The 2010 season saw the Jags average 35 more yards per outing than they did the year before Antoines arrival.

Prior to his time at South Alabama, Antoine spent two seasons as an assis-tant coach at Arkansas. His duties with the Razorbacks included assisting with the running backs, full backs and tight ends, scouting the opposition, helping with practice scripts and game plans and evaluating and developing self scouting reports. He also evaluated the performance of UAs offensive players and assisted in recruiting.

His first season with the Razorbacks in 2008 saw Arkansas pick up wins over nationally ranked opponents Auburn and Tulsa. In 2009, Arkansas fin-ished with a 8-5 record after defeating East Carolina in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. That year, the Razorback offense set school single-season records for points, passing yards, touchdown passes and total offense.

From 2006-07, Antoine coached running backs and assisted with special teams at Wofford. The Terriers won the 2007 Southern Conference cham-pionship, advancing to the quarterfinals of the Football Championship Subdivision (formerly NCAA Division I-AA) playoffs en route to a 9-4 finish. That fall, WC running backs ranked second in the nation with 2,899 yards and 32 touchdowns, while he helped Kevious Johnson earn first-team all-conference honors.

In his first season with the Terrier program, Antoine helped WC go 7-4 over-all and 5-2 in the SoCon. WC averaged just under 30 points per game while two of its four losses were by only one touchdown at eventual FCS cham-pion Appalachian State as well as at Football Bowl Subdivision and SEC member South Carolina.

While at Elon in 2005, he worked with wide receivers and slot backs. Under his direction, Michael Mayers collected 632 yards receiving -- a total that still ranks among the top 10 on the schools season record list -- on his way to becoming one of only three players in school history to record more than 2,000 receiving yards in a career. Antoines other responsibilities with the Phoenix included assisting with special teams and monitoring the teams academic progress.

Antoine has served two stints on the staff at Ohio, both at the same time Bulldog head coach Tim DeRuyter was there. He was a graduate assistant during the 1998 and ` 99 seasons before earning his masters degree in high-er education in 2000, then returned as a full-time assistant from 2001-04.

In his role working with Ohios wide receivers and coordinating its pass-ing attack, several Bobcats recorded performances that made the schools top-10 lists for catches and yards receiving in a game, and receiving and all-purpose yards in a career.

His other responsibilities with the school included scouting opponents, working with the kickoff return unit, monitoring the programs academic progress and serving as a liaison with the faculty on campus.

During Antoines two years as a graduate assistant with the Bobcats, when his duties included coordinating the scout defense and special teams, and breaking down film, OU posted a 5-3 mark in MAC action each fall.

In between stints at Ohio, he was an assistant coach -- his duties also in-cluded coordinating recruiting efforts off the field and the programs passing

attack on it -- at Fayetteville (N.C.) State during the 2000 campaign. His work with Bronco receivers helped Andregus Holmes earn all-Central

Intercollegiate Athletic Association honors.

Antoine was a four-year letterwinner at Colorado State from 1993-96, where he played wide receiver. Twice during his career the

Rams won the Western Athletic Conference championship to

earn a berth in the Holiday Bowl, highlighted by the pro-grams 10-2 record his sophomore season -- that fall, CSU defeated both nationally ranked Brigham Young and Arizona. As a junior, the Rams finished 8-4 with a victory over No. 21 Air Force, and they posted a 7-5 mark (three of those losses came against top-25 teams) his final year.

CSU would go on to reclaim the WAC title in 1997 when Antoine served as a student assistant coach, ending the season ranked 17th in the nation after picking up a 35-24 win over 19th-ranked Missouri in the Holiday Bowl. He would earn his degree in exercise and sport science from the school in 97.

Antoines wife, Zenarae, is in her second season as head coach of the wom-ens basketball program at Texas State. The couples twin sons, Zachary and Zavier, turned two the last week of January.

Phil Earley, a 25 year coaching veteran, enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Fresno State

football team. He was hired on Jan. 4, 2011 and he will be the Bulldogs recruiting coordinator and coach the tight ends

and inside receivers.

Earley comes to Fresno State with experience from across the country in major conferences such as the Big East and SEC. Of his 25 years of experience, 17 of them have been spent coaching quarterbacks.

Earley was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Idaho State in 2010 and the previous season he was an assistant to the offensive coordinator at San Diego State. From 2006-08, he served

as the quarterbacks coach at Syracuse.

While at Syracuse, Earley mentored quarterback Andrew Robinson, who finished the 2007 season ranked fifth on SUs single-season passing yards record list (2,192), sixth in completions (154), ninth in touchdown passes (13), fifth in yards per game (199.3) and third in pass attempts (292). In addition, the 2007 team set a school record for most passing yards in a season (2,750).

The previous year, Earleys first at Syracuse, Orange quarterback Perry Patterson finished the year ranked fourth on SUs single season completions record list (158), second in pass attempts (300) and tied for ninth in TD passes (12). Earley helped Patterson improve his accuracy, as well. Patterson reversed his touchdown to interception ratio from six TDs to 11 interceptions the year before Earleys arrival to 12 TDs to just four interceptions in his one year under Earleys tutelage.

During the 2005 season, Earley was an assistant to the quarterbacks coach at Auburn, helping the Tigers unit that ranked 37th nationally in total offense and 30th in scoring offense. Auburn quarterback Brandon Cox finished that season with a 2,324-yard passing season, which ranks as the seventh-best season in school history.

The 18 seasons prior to his stint at Auburn saw Earley gain experience working across the country, including his including his tenure at Washington State (1992-94) where he served as the recruiting coordinator and was responsible with helping head coach Mike Price with all football operations of the program. During that time, the Cougars won the 1992 Copper Bowl and led the Pac-10 in total offense.

In 2004, Earley served as the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Ohio when current Bulldog head coach Tim DeRuyter was the defensive coordinator with the Bulldogs.

From 2000-03, Earley served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Nevada and he held that same role in 1998-99 at Idaho. He was Idahos quarterbacks coach in 1997 before being promoted to offensive coordinator the next year.

While with the Wolf Pack, Earleys offense sported the nations leading rusher in 2001 and the nations leading receiver in 2002. Nevada finished 12th nationally in total offense (434 yards per game) and 11th in passing (296 yards per game) during the 2002 season.

From 1994-96, Earley was the assistant head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Cal State San Luis Obispo, where his offensive units set or tied 28 team record in his three years with the team.

He got his start in coaching at Western Washington, where he served as the offensive line coach from 1986-87. From 1988-89, Earley held that same role at Weber State before moving back to Western Washington from 1989-91 to serve as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Vikings.

Earley holds a bachelors degree in education from Pacific Lutheran University (1980) and a masters degree in education from Western Washington (1988).

He and his wife of 25 years, Cinde, have two sons, TJ (21) and Alec (18).

PETE GERMANOPete Germano enters his first season as the special teams coordinator and de-fensive line coach for the Bulldogs. He was hired at Fresno State on Jan. 4, 2012 after spending the past 11 seasons at Ohio.

His last three seasons at Ohio saw him working with the defen-

sive line after spending the eight years before that as serving in the role as the Bobcats recruiting coordina-tor and four seasons working with the tight ends. He also had a two-year stint coaching the outside linebackers from 2003-04.

In 2010, defensive lineman Stafford Gatling was a second-team All-MAC performer for the Bobcats and finished fifth in the league in tackles for loss (13.5) and seventh in the league in sacks (6.5). The defensive co-captain finished sixth on the Bobcats in tackles with 53 stops and tied for the team lead with two forced fumbles.

In 2009, Ohio defensive end Dak Notestine led the team with 10.0 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. Defensive tackle Ernie Hodge also had 48 stops, along with 5.5 tackles for loss en route to third-team All-MAC honors.

Under his tutelage, the Bobcat tight ends became an integral part of the of-fense. In 2007, tight end Andrew Mooney set the Ohio single-season touch-down reception record and earned his first All-MAC selection. Mooney also picked up third-team All-MAC recognition in 2008.

Germano has also had special team responsibilities with the Bobcats kick-off return and punting units. In 2007, Ohio boasted the best kickoff return average in the MAC with an average of 25.1 yards per return, helping return man Chris Garrett secure the top spot on the Bobcat all-time kick return average list.

Ohios last two recruiting classes have yielded three players named to The Sporting News Freshman All-America teams. Ohios 2008 recruiting class was named the best recruiting class in the MAC by the MAC Report Online and earned the sites only A rating for the year.

Germano came to Athens on Jan. 25, 2001 after two years as head coach at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland. While there, he began the rebuilding process for the Spartan program, leading them to 2-8 and 3-7 records in 1999 and 2000, respectively.

Prior to taking over at CWRU, Germano spent nine years at Wabash Col-lege. He held various titles there including defensive coordinator, strength coach, linebacker coach, recruiting coordinator and assistant head coach. His defensive units led the conference six times while being nationally ranked on three occasions. Wabash won the conference title four times dur-ing the 1990s: 1991, 1992, 1994 and 1998.

Germano began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Fairmont State (W.Va.) College. He started as their receivers/tight ends coach and then moved to defense where he presided over the defensive line for one year. Germanos last three years at Fairmont State were spent as the de-fensive coordinator/linebackers coach. He helped the team earn a top 10 ranking in NAIA Division I and a playoff appearance in 1988.

Germano received a bachelors degree in physical education from Ohio Wesleyan in 1982. While at OWU, he earned four letters in football and two

in baseball. He went on to receive his masters degree in physical educa-tion and athletic administration from Bowling Green in 1983.

In 1984, he was selected as the head athletic trainer for the Cincin-nati Reds Double-A farm team, the Vermont Reds.

Germano was a three-sport standout in football, basket-ball and baseball at Benedictine High School in Cleveland. In 2006, Germano was inducted into the Benedictine Athletic Hall of Fame. In football, he was a special mention All-Ohio selection, an All-District First Team pick and was one of 12 area players hon-ored by the Cleveland Touchdown Club. Germano helped the Bengals reach the 1978 state baseball finals and was named to the Cleveland Plain Dealer All-Scholastic team as a pitcher-shortstop. In basketball, he led the Bengals in scoring as a junior and senior and was also a co-captain.

He and his wife, Jackie, have three children - Nicole, Joey and Michael.

TIM McDONALDFIRST YEAR ......................................................... SECONDARY

Tim McDonald is in his first season as secondary coach for the Bulldogs. A Fresno native and local football legend,

McDonald was hired as an assistant coach on Jan. 4, 2012.

McDonald played safety for 13 seasons in the NFL from 1987-99 with the St. Louis/Phoenix Cardinals (1987-92) and the San Francisco 49ers (1993-99). He was selected to six Pro Bowls, including five-straight from 1991-95, and was named All-Pro six times. McDonald helped the 49ers win Super Bowl XXIX with a 49-26 victory over the San Diego Chargers.

Over his 13-year NFL career, he played in 191 games, making 187 starts. McDonald finished his pro career with 1,063 tackles, 40 interceptions and he recovered 16 fumbles.

McDonald was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the second round (34th overall pick) of the 1987 NFL Draft. After playing six seasons in the Cardinals organization, McDonald signed as a free agent with the San Francisco 49ers on April 7, 1993. He retired from the NFL following the 1999 season.

Collegiately, McDonald was a two-time All-American safety at the University of Southern California and he collected consensus All-America honors in 1986. A three-year starter at strong safety for the Trojans, McDonald accumulated 325 tackles and 11 interceptions in his collegiate career.

He was one of only six safeties named to the Walter Camp All-Century Team selected in 1999, celebrating the greatest College Football players of the 20th Century.

Most recently, McDonald had been the head coach at his alma mater, Edison High School, in Fresno in 2009 and 2011. He led the Tigers to a 10-2 record in 2011 and the semifinals of the division one playoffs and back in 2009 his team captured the division two Valley championship.

He took a one-year hiatus in 2010 to receive his degree in business administration from USC.

McDonald and his wife, Alycia, have two sons, Timothy, Jr. (TJ) and Tevin, and one daughter, Tary. TJ has started at free safety the past two seasons at USC, was an All-American in 2011 and is a 2012 Thorpe Award candidate. Tevin recently completed his redshirt freshman season as a safety at UCLA with 56 tackles and three interceptions.

CAMERON NORCROSSCameron Norcross was hired on Jan. 20, 2012 as an assistant coach for Fresno State in charge of directing the Bulldog offensive line.

Norcross entire 11-year coaching career before joining

the Fresno State staff was spent at his alma mater, Nevada, where he helped lead the Wolf Pack to seven-straight bowl appearances from 2005-11. A three-year let-terman on the Wolf Pack offensive line (1997-99), Norcross was an All-Big West selection in 1998.

He started in coaching career as a graduate assistant for Nevada under coach Chris Tormey in 2001 and 2002. In the 2003 season, he was hired on full time as the tight ends and co-offensive line coach.

Wolf Pack Hall of Fame coach Chris Ault returned to the program as head coach in 2004, and he kept Norcross on his staff in the same role all the way up until 2010 when he was promoted to the run-game coordinator and offensive line coach.

Norcross played an important role in the development of Aults Pis-tol Offense since its inception prior to the 2005 season.

Nevada led the nation in rushing in 2009, a year in which the Wolf Pack became the first team in NCAA history to have three 1,000-yard rushers in the same season. Under the direction of Norcross in 2010, the Wolf Pack ranked third nationally in rushing and fourth in total offense. Running back Vai Taua was seventh in the nation in rushing that year at 124 yards per game and quarterback Colin Kaepernick was 41st, as he became the first quarterback in NCAA history to rush for over 1,000 yards three-straight years.

Despite the graduation of Taua and Kaepernick, Nevadas run-game did not see a drop off in production in 2011. Norcross unit ranked eighth nationally in rushing offense and sixth in total offense at 506.7 yards per game.

In 2011, offensive lineman Chris Baker was named to the All-WAC first-team and Jeff Nady received a second-team nod. In his nine seasons coaching offensive lineman at Nevada, Norcross coached eight players to first-team all-conference honors and another eight to second-team accolades.

Tight end Anthony Pudewell was a second-team All-WAC selection in both 2005 and 2006 under Norcross. In 2007, tight end Adam Bishop led the WAC tight ends in scoring with seven touchdowns

and was a second-team All-WAC selection.

Prior to joining Tim DeRuyters staff at Fresno State in 2012, the two had previously worked together at Nevada in 2005

and 2006 when DeRuyter was the co-defensive coor-

dinator for the Wolf Pack. Over those two seasons, DeRuyter and Norcross helped lead Nevada to a 17-8 record, a share of the 2005 WAC Championship and two bowl appearances.

A native of Ely, Nev., Norcross holds a bachelors degree from Ne-vada in management. He and his wife, Jennifer, have two daugh-ters, Kylie and Madison, and one son, Jacob.

Joe Wade begins his fourth season as the running backs coach at Fresno State. He was the lone assistant

coach retained from the previous staff when Tim DeRuyter was hired as the new Bulldog head coach.

Wades four years with the program have seen the Bulldog running backs go through some of the most productive seasons in school history, and the evidence is all over the record books.

Wade joined the Bulldog coaching staff on Feb. 24, 2009 and in

his first season he led running back Ryan Mathews to the NCAA rushing crown. Mathews set Fresno State single-season records with 1,808 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns en route to earning All-America honors and first-team All-WAC accolades. He went on to be drafted No. 12 overall by the San Diego Chargers in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Then these past two seasons, Wade has guided Robbie Rouse to back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons. Rouses 2,678 rushing yards from 2010-11 are the most by a Bulldog tailback in consecutive seasons. He was a first-team All-WAC selection in 2011 and enters his senior season in 2012 317 yards shy of breaking the schools all-time rushing record that has stood since 1993.

Prior to joining the Fresno State staff, Wade served as the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach at Eastern Washington. During his tenure with the Eagles, Wade also served as the running backs/receivers coach for eight years.

He coached the top two running backs in EWU history in Jesse Chatman and Jovan Griffith, who rank first and second, respectively, in its record books.

Before his time at Eastern Washington, Wade served as the running backs coach at Montana State. He also held four summer coaching internships in the NFL, working with the Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks and St. Louis Rams.

Wade played collegiately for Linfield College from 1986-91 as a quarterback and he was a member of the 1986 NAIA National Championship team. Prior to college, Wade played football, basketball and baseball for South Eugene High School in Eugene, Ore.

A native of Los Angeles, Calif., Wade was born on Jan. 23, 1968. He has three children: daughters Cierra and Simone, and a son, Joe Wade, III. Wade holds a bachelors degree in physical education from Linfield College in 1991.

ASSISTANT SECONDARY COACH ..............................FIRST YEAR Jordan Peterson begins his first season as the assistant defensive backs coach for the Fresno State football team. He was hired on Jan. 4, 2012 after serving the past two seasons as the defensive graduate assistant at Texas A&M. With the Aggies, Peterson was responsible for game preparation and scouting as well as working with the secondary. A former cornerback with Texas A&M, Peterson played in 35 games over his four-year career from 2006-09 and he made 15 starts. Peterson recorded 81 tackles in his career, broke-up 15 passes, had two forced fumbles one fumble recovery and four interceptions, including on that he returned 48 yards for a touchdown against New Mexico as a junior in 2008.

Peterson was a two-time Academic All-Big 12 first-team honoree and in 2008 he was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-Region VI team. Peterson received his bachelors degree in sport management from Texas A&M in 2009 along with his masters in education curriculum and instruction in 2010. He graduated from Lexington (Texas) High School, where he earned first-team all-state honors as a defensive back and honorable mention honors as a quarterback his senior year. He was named Texas Prep Xtra Central Texas MVP (all classifications) and Class 2A Player of the Year as a senior. Peterson was born on Aug. 18, 1987 in Brenham, Texas and is married to the former Melissa Gordon.

Joey Boese (pronounced boze-EH) enters his first season as the strength and conditioning coach for the Bulldog football team. Boese, who played collegiately at Wisconsin, came to Fresno State after four years at Texas A&M, the last two of which were spent working with Bulldog head coach Tim DeRuyter. From 2008-11, Boese was the first assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Aggie football team. In that role, he instructed all phases of the teams training program, including implementing speed and burst workouts, teaching Olympic and technical lifts and preparing athletes for the NFL combine. During his stay in College Station, Texas A&M advanced to the Independence, Cotton and most recently, the Meineke Car Care Bowl where the Aggies defeated Northwestern on Dec. 31, 2011. Boese also worked as the head strength and conditioning coach for the baseball squad from August 2009 to July 2011, helping the Aggies reach the 2011 College World Series. He helped train eight Major League Baseball Draft picks in 2011, as well as the sixth player chosen in the 2010 Draft in pitcher Barret Loux.

The Irvine, Calif., native starred at Mater Dei High School in Orange County before earning a scholarship to play football at Wisconsin. He was a two-year starter and four-year letterwinner as a defensive back for the Badgers from 1998-2001, and was a part of one Sun Bowl and two Rose Bowl championship squads. He also was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten pick his final three campaigns. Boese continued his playing career in the Canadian Football League for the Calgary Stampeders from 2003-06, where he was the leagues second-leading tackler in 2004 and was nominated for the CFLs Rookie of the Year award in 2003. After his playing career, he served an assistant strength and conditioning and safeties coach at Emporia State in Kansas and was a football video intern at Nebraska in 2007. Boese earned his bachelors degree in communication arts from Wisconsin in December 2002, and also obtained his master of science in health, physical education and recreation from Emporia State in December 2008. He married the former Aimee Croft in the summer of 2012.

Vince Guinta enters his first season as the football operations coordinator at Fresno State. His job duties include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the football program, recruiting, training table and assisting with team travel. Guinta comes to Fresno State after working in private business in his hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah. Prior to that, Guinta worked with the football program at Nebraska from 2004 to 2008, where he held the title of assistant director of football operations. There, Guinta coordinated many aspects of the Huskers recruiting efforts. He also assisted with team personnel management, in-house operations and was

actively involved in Nebraskas Big Red Football School and coaching clinic. Guinta came to Nebraska after working in the University of Utah football program. Guinta began with the Utes as a video coordinator in 1997 and 1998, before serving as a defensive administrative assistant for the 1999 to 2004. With the Utes, Guinta assisted the coaching staff with opponent scouting, football operations and recruiting. A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, Guinta graduated from Utah in 2003 with a bachelors degree in political science.

Michael Hodges, a former Academic All-American and All-Big 12 linebacker for Tim DeRuyter at Texas A&M, joins DeRuyters staff at Fresno State for his first season as a graduate assistant defensive coach. Hodges, a OConnor [Texas] High School product, walked on to the Aggie football team in the spring of 2008. After suffering a torn ACL at the end of spring drills in 2009, he came back that fall to earn honorable mention All-Big 12 honors when he started in nine games as a junior. As a senior in 2010, Hodges started every game and went on to earn second-team All-Big 12 honors. He led the Aggies in tackles despite being injured in the bowl game against LSU. He earned Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors twice with 14 tackles over Nebraska and a career-best 19 stops against Oklahoma,

and also recorded 13 tackles in the Thanksgiving victory over Texas in Austin. Hodges was a two-time All-Academic Big 12 selection in his career and was named a first-team ESPN Academic All-American in 2010. He was presented with the 2010 Heart Award, which is the highest honor for a Texas A&M senior football player. The Aggie Heart Award winner is the player who extends himself to the fullest every time he wears his football gear, regardless of the situation, be it in practice or a game. Hodges graduated from Texas A&M in 2010 with a bachelors degree in sport management and a minor in business. In 2011 he received his masters in marketing from A&M.

Clayton Johnson enters his first season as an offensive graduate assistant coach with the Bulldogs working with the offensive line.

Johnson was the run-game coordinator, offensive line coach and the strength and conditioning coach at West Valley College in Saratoga in 2011. The two years before that he was the assistant offensive line coach at Vavilan College in Gilroy, Calif. In his two junior college stops, Johnson had six players go on to earn scholarships.

Johnson played offensive line at Gavilan College where he was named to the

2006 NorCal All-Combine team. He went on to Nevada in 2007 and 2008 where he played for current Fresno State offensive line coach Cameron Norcross. Johnson was an Academic All-WAC selection in 2008 and won the teams Big Bloc Award for the Louisiana Tech game in 2008.

He graduated from Nevada in 2009 with a bachelors degree in criminal justice and he was a Graduate of Distinction.

David Stenklyft beings his first season as the defensive graduate assistant coach for the Fresno State football team.

Stenklyft came to Fresno State from Texas A&M where he was the defensive quality control coach for the past two seasons under now Fresno State head coach Tim DeRuyter and defensive coordinator Nick Toth. With the Aggies, Stenklyft was responsible for game preparation, scouting and opponent breakdowns as well as working with the outside linebackers.

Prior to his two seasons at A&M, Stenklyft served as the recruiting/operations

intern at the University of Alabama in the Spring of 2010. He was also a student-assistant for the Texas A&M football team from 2006-10.

Stenklyft graduated from Texas A&M in 2010 with a bachelors degree in sports management. He was born on April 22, 1987 in Tyler, Texas and is engaged to be married to Patti Kitt.

Darrick Yray is in his second season as the football operations graduate assistant. His responsibilities include assisting with team travel, recruiting, academics and daily operations duties.

He spent the previous two seasons serving as the offensive student assistant working under the Bulldogs offensive coordinator and the 2008 season as the offensive and special teams student assistant. In those roles he helped prepare scouting reports, efficiency and tendency charts, film breakdown and assisted with academics.

In 2010, Yray was a guest coach with the CFLs Saskatchewan Roughriders franchise, working with special teams and the defensive line.

A native of Linden, Calif., Yray graduated from Fresno State in 2011 with a bachelors degree in communications. He is currently working towards his Masters of Kinesiology in sport administration.

Tony Hill is in his fifth year as the head football athletic trainer. He came to Fresno State in May 2008 after working with the California Golden Bear football team as the assistant athletic trainer.

Upon completing his graduate degree, Hill also worked as an assistant athletic trainer with the Texas Longhorn football team. He received his graduate degree from the University of Kentucky, where he completed his masters work in athletic training.

In his research, Hill studied the intertester reliability of a lower extremity

functional test. Clinically, Hill worked with the football team. Before his graduate assistantship, he interned with the Florida Gator football and mens tennis teams.

Hill completed his undergraduate education here at Fresno State in May 2003. He has also worked as a summer inter with the Miami Dolphins during the summer of 2002. Hill is originally from Salinas, Calif., he and his wife, Mandy who is also an athletic trainer at Fresno State, have one son, Caden.
