The  #London2012  hashtag  and  #olympics  hashtag  show  up  in  tweets  with  similar  frequency  with  counts  44,410  and  37,194  respec:vely

A  frequently  encountered  TwiQer  handle  on  the  2012  Olympics  is  Liam  Payne,  a  member  of  the  Bri:sh-­‐Irish  boy  band,  One  Direc:on.

§  An  overwhelming  95%  of  the  comments  contained  posi:ve  sen:ment  

§  Women  gymnas:cs  had  the  most  volume  of  social  conversa:on  vs.  men  gymnas:cs.  Conversa:ons  about  the  men’s  team  declined  aler  plumme:ng  to  5th  place  aler  leading  qualifica:ons.  The  women  had  a  chance  for  the  first  team  :tle  since  1996,  in  part  because  the  strength  of  Weiber  and  Douglas

§  Jordyn,  Aly,  “The  Surprise  Contender”,  and  Gabby  were  all  in  the  same  range  with  between  23,000  and  25,000  comments
