Pair Programming

• Pair programming is a technique in which two programmers work together at one workstation. One person will be coding (i.e. driver) and other person will be reviewing the code and guiding them on the strategic direction to work (i.e. observer). Interviewee will be considered as a driver and the interviewer will be an observer. This process will be testing the interviewee’s ability to adopt the technology in short period, skills and understanding of the web technology.

• For this pair programming, already developed J2EE based web application will be taken for this assessment. This J2EE application developed on the technologies using JSP, JSTL, Servlets and JDBC. One of the interviewer will be explaining the project design and architecture, then he will assign a task on enhancing the application (or) troubleshooting an issue in the application and fix it within 60 - 90 mins of duration.

• Tools and Database Used for this Process: Eclipse IDE 3.6, Tomcat Server 7.0, a relational database and interviewee’s can refer the websites for this task.

• Working environment has been setup already in the Virtual Machine. VM player needs to be installed to use the Virtual machine on each workstation.

Microsoft have informed us to shortlist students who have a CGPA of 8.25 and above with No Standing Arrears from B.Tech – CSE, IT, & ECE.
