General information Training is available to ABB Totalflow customers only. These customers are end users of ABB Totalflow products and/or engineering or contracting firms legitimately acting on behalf of an end user of ABB Totalflow products. ABB Totalflow reserves the right to decline training to anyone who is not deemed to be an ABB Totalflow customer.

Enrollment To enroll in training classes held at the Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas or Kansas facilities, students should enroll online at the ABB University Web site: www.abb.com/abbuniversity. If unable to enroll online, students may call (800) 442-3097 (option 3) to request a manual enrollment form. Payment arrangements should be made at the time of enrollment. Students are responsible for travel, lodging and other expenses.

To enroll in training classes held at the California facility, please call (661) 833-2030.

Upon enrollment, an acknowledgement will be sent confirming the application. Once the approval process has been completed, a confirmation will be sent finalizing the enrollment process. Approximately two (2) weeks prior to the class start date, enrollees should receive a reminder.

If, for any reason, the location of the class is changed, you will be notified.

Course cancellation policy ABB Totalflow reserves the right to reschedule, discontinue or cancel a course due to insufficient enrollment of students. In the event of a course change or cancellation, the student will be notified two (2) weeks before the class.

Students who cancel enrollment between three (3) and ten (10) business days prior to the class start date will be charged a $100 cancellation fee. “No Show” students and students who cancel enrollment less than three (3) business days prior to the class date will be responsible for the full tuition, regardless of payment arrangements.

Miscellaneous If you require any additional information or a map to aid you with your travel plans, please do not hesitate to call the enrollment coordinator or make contact by email. Students are responsible for travel, accommodations and meal arrangements.

Dress code policy In an effort to maintain a safe and professional environment, we ask that students attending our facility avoid open toed shoes, shorts, tank tops or T-shirts with inappropriate artwork.

Self-paced online classes In addition to our standard classes, Totalflow is now of-fering two (2) of our most popular classes online through the ABB University Web site: www.abb.com/abbuniversity. These classes are free, but registration and approval are required. Once you have received final approval by email, students will be allowed to log back in and complete sessions of the class at their leisure.

We recommend viewing the sessions in the order pre-sented; however, students may skip around or even re-view sessions on an as needed basis. Once the course has been fully viewed, it will be necessary to re-register to review the materials.

Windows® Media Player is required to view class ses-sions.

Self-paced, online classes: • TFL01e Basic Flow Computer training • TFL13e NGC8200 Chromatograph training

Remote online training In addition to other training options ABB Totalflow also offers remote training classes. Currently, this option is only available for the basic classes.

Using GoToMeeting by Citrix®, remote locations will be able to log into a class location on the Internet. It is recommended that no more than five (5) locations participate, with a maximum of ten (10) students total.

ABB Totalflow believes this to be a cost-effective and easy-to-use solution to meet customer needs.

Available classes Our remote online classes are available in: Basic FCU, WinCCU and NGC8200. Standard pricing is applicable for up to five (5) remote locations. Additional locations may require a surcharge.

• Standard three (3) day class: $2,500. • Abbreviated two (2) day class with a modified

curriculum: $1,500.

These classes are by appointment only, and a minimum of 90 days is required to schedule these classes. A purchase order or payment covering the cost of the class is required before a reservation can be made.

Recommendations Participation in a remote class requires the following:

• A PC compatible computer system (including speakers or headphones) with high-speed Internet access for each participating location.

• Participant computers with Software Simulator installed and tested.

• Either a microphone or telephone system with speaker and mute functionality.

• Classroom settings also require a projection screen and moderator.

Classes by appointment Since it is not always convenient for a customer to send employees to a training facility, select training courses can be presented at the customer site. Documentation will be shipped to the customer’s location and is included in the course fee. Travel and living expenses for the instructor will be billed at actual cost. Training requirements longer than two (2) weeks in duration will result in an additional round trip to the location for the instructor.

A lead time of 90 days is required to provide sufficient time to schedule customer site courses. A purchase order or payment covering the course must be received at least four (4) weeks before the start date of the course.

Required equipment For these classes, the customer must provide classroom facilities and all necessary laboratory material. Classroom and lab lessons, in any situation, should be limited in size to equipment availability.

1. Suitable classroom with whiteboard or blackboard.

2. PC or laptop computers with PCCU32 (WinCCU32 for TFL2 Training) loaded per 1-2 students.

3. Computer LCD projector.

4. Flow computer units or other equipment.

5. Cables for PCCU, remote communications, etc.

6. Calibration instruments (digital calibrators and/or deadweight or gauge testers).

The price of the class is based on items 1 and 6 being supplied by the customer. ABB Totalflow can provide items 2 through 6, with an additional charge for shipping and handling.

Available classes Standard three (3) day classes at the customer location are based on a class size of eight (8) students. Additional students will be billed at $250 each. The cost is $9,500.

Abbreviated two (2) day classes at the customer location are available with a modified curriculum. Classes are also based on eight (8) students. Additional students will be billed at $250 each. The cost is $6,500.

Custom classes or classes made up of subject materials from more than one standard class require a detailed quote and will include preparation time for the instructor and required class materials.

Remote online training, cont. How it works A day or so prior to the scheduled class date, you will receive an email invitation containing download instructions for the ABB Totalflow Software Simulator, the Internet meeting address, a telephone bridge number and a password.

On the day of class, just prior to start time, participant locations are asked to log into the class to insure that communication has been established. In some settings, testing the system on a prior day will eliminate wasted class time if troubleshooting an Internet connection is required.

During log in, customers will need to determine how they prefer to communicate questions to the instructor. Systems containing a working microphone may participate via VoIP (voice over Internet protocol). Additionally, participants may choose a dial-up telephone connection or communicate via the program’s chat window.

When class begins, the instructor’s desktop will appear on the monitor or projection screen and you should be able to clearly hear the presentation. Using additional instructor capabilities, you may view MSPowerPoint® presentations, video clips, live software instruction or the instructor may sketch on the white board.

Students are encouraged to participate and ask questions during each segment of the class.

At the close of class each day, the meeting will be disconnected. Prior to class start time on the next

scheduled day of class, participants will be required to again log in and verify communication has been established.

Software simulator GoToMeeting sessions are conducted with the attendees using the simulator integral to PCCU32 software. The simulator has the same look and feel as the actual equipment. This allows students to follow along with the instructor. We do recommend, however, that one unit be available for students unfamiliar with our equipment or for instances where units require disassembly during class.

Additional information Please note that in some international countries, a toll-free phone bridge may not be available. If VoIP is not a viable solution, international toll charges may apply to each class session. Should these charges be incurred, they are the sole responsibility of the remote party and should be accounted for.
