Meet the CoachAngie BullardHead Coach - 13th SeasonAs NCTC head volleyball coach, Angie Bullard calls on successful career experiences as an athlete, student and high school coach.

A graduate of Gunter High School, Bullard attended Paris Junior College on a basketball scholarship, win-ning Academic All-American honors in 1989-90 and 1990-91. She transferred to Tarleton State University and helped lead the TexAnns to the National Tourna-ment, twice more earning Academic All-American honors. As a senior, she was named TexAnn of the Year in recognition of her accomplishments on the court, in the classroom and as a student leader.

Bullard earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree and a Master’s of Education degree from TSU, graduating cum laude. As a TSU graduate student, she worked as the assistant women’s basketball coach.

After college, Bullard taught high school biology and served as head coach in volleyball, softball, basketball

and cross country. In six years as a high school coach, she won several honors and awards including the Waco Tribune Herald Volleyball Coach of the Year.

Now in her 13th year as Lady Lion head coach, Bullard continues to push for team improvement. Her teams have qualified for the regional tournament each of the past 12 years, reaching the regional championship match six times and winning the regional title in 2005. The Lady Lions advanced to the NJCAA National Tournament in Missouri in 2005.

Besides solid on-court performance, Bullard is proud of the Lady Lions’ academic record.

“We expect our players to perform on the court and in the classroom,” Bullard said. “ When we recruit, we go after players we believe will excel as students as well as athletes.”

Outside coaching, Bullard enjoys athletics and outdoor activities including gold and horseback riding. She is married to Joe Bullard, a teacher and coach at Aubrey High School. Together, they have a daughter, Lindsey, a student at Callisburg Elementary.

This is NCTCEstablished in 1924 under the leadership of Texas community college pioneer Randolph Lee Clark,

North Central Texas College is the oldest continuously operating public two-year college in the state. From its roots as a small, rural “junior” college — an extension of the local public schools actually — NCTC has grown and matured into a comprehensive, full-service community college of truly regional scope, serving students from five major campuses located across its service area. This fall, NCTC set

a new enrollment record of 10,175 students system-wide.
