Donations Form Ride Information The San Luis Valley Century We invite you to pedal 100 miles embraced by 14,000 foot mountain peaks beneath the forever reaching Colorado blue skies. e San Luis Valley, surrounded by the dramatic Sangre de Cristo and San Juan Mountains, offers an array of outdoor recreation. Experience the great expanse of one of the world’s largest and highest alpine valleys, covering an area the size of Connecticut at an elevation of 7,500 ft. For scenic sites & lodging see www.alamosa.org. Bike 2 Build is a benefit ride for Habitat for Humanity. e ride is a fully supported with reststops every 25-30 miles ~ snacks, beverages, good conversation, potty facilities, sag vehicles and rides when necessary. A post-ride meal will be provided for riders in Alamosa. Additional guests may join the (yummy!) meal for $10. ~Diego de Vargas, one of the first European explorers, describes the San Luis Valley as “Sierra de las Grullas,” Mountains of the Cranes. e entire Rocky Mountain population of sandhill cranes migrates biannually through the San Luis Valley. e Monte Vista National Wildlife Refuge provides crucial migratory bird habitat and a solution to the declining waterfowl wintering habitat. ~Nestled at the base of the picturesque San Juan Mountains, Del Norte has a rich history from the gold and silver boomtown days. e Old Spanish Trail was a major trade route from 1830-1848 between Santa Fe and Los Angeles. Traces of the original trail can still be seen. ~Vast rich farmlands stretch between the San Juan and Sangre de Cristo peaks. Quinoa, potatoes, spinach, wheat and barley are some of the Valley’s yielding crops. ~e ride crosses the Rio Grande several times. With humble beginnings in the San Luis Valley, the mighty Rio Grande is the 5th longest river in North America, flowing 1,900 miles forming the Rio Bravo, the US-Mexico border. Benefit Bike Ride

Fill out form and sign the release below. Send registration with donations postmarked by July 12to give us a count for support needed during the ride. We will send you an email confirmation.

Waiver and Release (please read and sign below)

ASSUMPTION OF ALL RISKS BY THE ENTRANT: With the full knowledge and appreciation that bicycle riding is a hazardous activity and consequence of your accepting this entry, I, intending to be legally bound for myself, my heirs, executors, and administrators, waive and release any and all rights of claim for damages as I may have against Bike 2 Build organizers, SLV Habitat for Humanity and their agents, and towns, counties and state in which the event travels, their representatives, successors, and assigns, and for any and all injuries and/or property damage suffered by me in said event, and for the same consideration, the undersigned parent or guardian herby indemnifies and agrees to hold Bike 2 Build organizers, SLV Habitat for Humanity and their agents, harmless from any and all liabilities which may occur by the entry of the applicant in the Bike 2 Build. I allow the use of my image in photos and video to help share the Habitat for Humanity message.

I will wear an ANSI approved helmet during the ride. I will be expected to change my own flats, and fix my own mechanical problems. A group start is scheduled for 7 am.
