Auditorium Foyer Beautiful representations of traditions from all over the world. Doyle Thomas West In May, we were surprised by the sudden passing of our friend, Doyle West. He was a long-time leader on Temple Hill, serving the community, and teaching and directing music. Brother West was one of the originals of the well-loved Temple Pageant. He acted, directed, produced and was its history keeper. He also directed Händel's Messiah here for well over 30 years. He was very talented at conducting in the round and from behind! I will forever remember following his direction of both those on stage as well as those in the audience. As members of his choir, he would spoon-feed us our lines, and as a soloist, he handed me my cues with trust and confidence. Known for his high standards, he helped draw the best out of anyone, patiently imparting tips of technique – an impeccable maestro. He also had a great sense of humor. One of my fond memories is that he truly had the “voice of God,” the richest of bass voices. Yet, beneath his ominous sound, Doyle was thoughtful, sensitive and reflective. He was devoted to his wife and family, and had a strong faith in God and Jesus Christ. His impact easily numbers tens of thousands, and I count myself among the priveleged. — Lissa Werson, Mezzo &Friend Many thanks to Ve'Laine Manion's decorating team Large tree donated by Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa Many thanks to Ve'Laine Manion's decorating team Large tree donated by Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa
