Songs to Sing| September 6-8, 2013

This is a retreat for church choirs of all sizes as well as in-dividuals who like to sing in a choir and learn from an ex-cellent choral clinician. Come and gather in the mountains with others who share the love of choral music. Five selec-tions of music will be rehearsed throughout the weekend so choirs can leave with 5 prepared anthems. Workshops and a reading session will also be part of the weekend.

Michael Glasgow, director of Music at North Raleigh Unit-ed Methodist Church (www.michaeljglasgow.com), is the program’s clinician. Michael will help participants in both technique and expression.

Cost: $180 per person + $10 Facility Enhancement = $190 per person

In an effort to better serve guests, Lutheridge is addressing the most frequent guest concern by refurbishing Kohnjoy and completely renovating Thornburg Hall, which houses more adults than any other facility. Haiti Immersion| September 6-7, 2013

Are you planning to lead a group to Haiti? Would you like to know exactly what will happen when you get there? Come to Luther Springs for an orientation to the Immersion pro-cess and learn from those who have led groups, those who have been part of small groups, as well as meeting at least one of the members of the Lutheran Church of Haiti who will be hosting you. Learn what to expect when you are there, what the Haitian hosts will do for and with you, but more importantly, learn how to build the excitement within your congregation or group. The Florida-Bahamas Synod, together with Luther Springs, will be working closely with your group, securing air travel and rooms while there, as well as ensuring you will have the contacts needed while in Haiti.

The retreat will begin Friday evening, and will end Saturday after the evening meal. There will be the option to spend Saturday night at Luther Springs for a small additional fee.

This retreat is vital for congregational leaders planning to go to Haiti, as well as for those who are interested in the next trip for Deacon training, a fast growing ministry in Haiti. If you are unable to attend, but would like more information, please contact the Luther Springs office.
