About the KDTA
The Kansas District Tennis Association (KDTA) is de-
fined as the entire state of Kansas except the
counties of Atchison, Doniphan, Douglas, Jeffer-
son, Johnson, Leavenworth, and Wyandotte, and
is a sub-division of the US Tennis Association-
Missouri Valley Section.
Purpose: The KDTA is a non-profit and tax-exempt member-
ship organization and is devoted:
to the development of tennis as a means of
helpful recreation and physical fitness, and
to the establishment and maintenance of rules
and play and high standards of amateurism
and good sportsmanship.

KDTA Junior Ranking Rules
KDTA Junior Novice
Tournament Rules
1. Must have played three district level tournaments for
the calendar year for a singles ranking except for the
B/G 10’s age division where it is just two tournaments.
2. Must have played two doubles tournaments to quali-
fy for doubles ranking.
3. Two participation points are awarded for each dis-
trict tournament except the KDTA District Qualifier
Tournament where there are five participation points
awarded.
4. The Kansas District Qualifier Tournament is the dis-
trict’s “designated tournament” which means that
USTA/Missouri Valley Section “Futures” level points
(220 points for first) are awarded for that tournament.
Kansas District Juniors novice tournaments are open to
Kansas District residents that are beginning level tennis
players. USTA membership is required.
Junior novice players must play in their respective age
group in singles but may play up in doubles.
Junior novice ineligibility (based on singles entry) for their
age group:
1. If a junior novice player wins 3 junior novice
singles events in a single season.
2. 2 Wins or more rounds in a main draw Kansas
district or higher level Junior tournament.
3. Attains a Kansas District Junior ranking.
4. Places 1st in the season ending KDTA Junior
Novice Tournament of Champions.
Players accomplishing #1 or #2 after qualifying for KDTA
Junior Novice Tournament of Champions may still partici-
pate in said tournament.

If you will be enrolled in Middle School in the fall of 2013 you must play that age division and cannot play up. You must be enrolled in grades 9-12 in the fall of 2013 to be eligible for the high school division. There is a limit of 8 teams per division. Team Selection: Limited to the first 8 teams in each division with a paid entry. There will be a wait list and those not accepted will have the fee refunded. There are no refunds for withdrawing after June 25 unless another team is found to replace yours. Team Requirements: Each team must have an adult coach. Each match will require 4 boys and 4 girls with play in boys singles, girls singles, boys doubles, girls dou-bles and mixed doubles. 2013 Adult Ranking Rules
1. Player must be a resident of the state of Kansas, a
member of an armed forces family stationed in Kan-
sas, a non-citizen holding a green-card, or a student
who attends a Kansas school and maintains a Kan-
sas District residence on their USTA membership.
2. Players must present a current USTA membership
card, or new membership proof, prior to entry into
Kansas District sanctioned tournaments.
3. The USTA computer ranking system of points per
round reached is used by the Kansas District for
ranking procedures. This system allows for addition-
al ranking point to be awarded for more participa-
tion by a player, as well as for participation in heavi-
er weighted tournaments.
4. The ranking committee will determine which tourna-

Open and the Topeka Jayhawk Open.
5. To be ranked in singles, players must play a mini-
mum of two tournaments sanctioned by the Kansas
District.
6. To be ranked in doubles, players must play at least
two tournaments sanctioned by the Kansas District
with the same partner.
7. Players must have a minimum of one win in the
event they wish to be considered in for a ranking.
The best FOUR results for Kansas District tournaments
will be used for KDTA Adult Tournament rankings.
8. If a player is NTRP rated, they may not participate or
be ranked in a level lower than their NTRP rating.
9. If a player enters a tournament but find they will not
be able to participate, they must notify the tourna-
ment director at least one day prior to tournament
start. Entering of a tournament as a no-show will not
count positively towards the requirement of partici-
pation for rankings.
10. Any discrepancies involving ranking will be handled
by the ranking committee.
