    ganza and experiencewhat 70-plus chefs, cater-ers and community cooks

    will be serving at 5:30p.m., Saturday, May 18, atthe Blue Goose EventCenter, 3550 Taylor Road,in Loomis.

    There will be restau-rants in attendance withchef-prepared dishes,caterers offering their spe-cialties and many com-

    munity cooks represent-ing their organizations orbusinesses.

    Crowds of peopledonate their time, foodand skill to this South Plac-er Heritage Foundationfundraiser. The event hasbeen going on for 13 years.

    Tickets for open seatingare $25 in advance and $30the day of the event. Tick-

    ets can be purchased in

    Loomis at Main Drug, BlueGoose Produce, theLoomis Chamber of Com-merce, at the LincolnChamber of Commerce orat the door. A reservedindoor table for eight is$500 with wine and sou-venir wine glasses. A silentauction and raffle roundout the evening. All pro-ceeds benefit the ongoing

    renovation of the historicBlue Goose Fruit Shed.

    The renovation began10 years ago and local vol-unteers and communitymembers have trans-formed a dilapidated eye-sore to a restored historicicon. Each year, more andmore improvements havebeen made until today theshed is a major event ven-ue in South Placer County.

    The South Placer Her-itage Foundation took on

    this major project with thethought of giving back tothe community. Plans

    were developed thatwould bring life back tothe building that fordecades provided themeans of sharing LoomisBasin-grown fruit to Cali-fornia and beyond.
