It is the second-straight MW weekly accolade for Bibbs, while McNeal and Tenpenny earn their fi rst career awards. They are Nevada’s second and third honorees this season. consecutive games with a reception is 47, held by UNLV’s Casey Flair and Wyoming’s Jovon Bouknight.Wimberly missed all of the 2011 season due to injury but his (fi rst) senior season in 2012 saw a remarkable comeback from the 6-foot-3, 225-pounder. Wimberly led Ne-vada in catches (70) and yards (845) and was second (behind current New England Patriots TE Zach Sudfeld) in touchdowns (4). Wimberly received a medical hardship from the NCAA in the off season to return for a sixth season. The NCAA record is 54 games by Bryan Anderson of Central Michigan (2006-09). Nevada would need to reach the Mountain West championship game and a bowl game in order for Wimberly to have a chance to tie the NCAA record.Wimberly had another notable streak ended against Boise State when he was held without a touchdown. That stopped a streak of fi ve straight games with a touch-down reception, which is tied for third in Mountain West history.

HENDERSON SHINES IN LOSS AT CSUFreshman receiver Hasaan Henderson got his fi rst career start against Colorado State on Nov. 9. He responded with another big performance, setting career highs in receptions (10) and yardage (110). It was the fi rst 100-yard game of Henderson’s career. He is the fourth Nevada player to have a 100-yard game this year.

CAREER LONG FOR FAJARDONevada quarterback Cody Fajardo ripped off a 68-yard touchdown run in the third quarter against Colorado State. The run was the longest of Fajardo’s career, eclipsing a 56-yarder against Texas Tech in 2011.It matches the longest play of the year for Nevada as Kolby Arendse hauled in a 68-yard pass from Tyler Stewart earlier this year.

FAJARDO SETS MW RECORDNevada junior quarterback Cody Fajardo was intercepted on his seventh pass attempt against UNLV, which ended a streak of consecutive passes without an interception at 193. That mark is the Mountain West Conference record and it is the fourth time this season that the record has been broken.Fajardo’s last interception prior to the one against the Rebels was in the waning mo-ments of the 2012 New Mexico Bowl. He still only has two interception on the year. The streak of 193 straight without a pick is also the school record.Consecutive Pass Attempts Without an Interception (MW history)Rk Player, School Att. BIG NIGHT FOR TENPENNYPunter Chase Tenpenny showed off his big leg against UNLV. He punted six times for an average of 54.8 yards, which marks a career high and the second-best single-game average in school history. His 54.8 yard average is the best single-game performance in the MW this season and his 68-yarder was the second-longest punt in the MW this season. His 68-yard punt was a career long, eclipsing his previous best of 63 yards. Ten-penny placed two of his attempts inside the 20 and the Pack yielded just 5 yards of return yardage on three returns.

OLD MAN LAVULO SWITCHES, STARTSIn the middle of August, Fred Lavulo was part of a crowded depth chart on Nevada’s defensive line, fi ghting for playing time at one of the tackle spots heading into his senior year. But the Pack’s thin off ensive line needed help and Lavulo rose to the challenge. He switched to the off ensive front with about two weeks to go before the season opener and has started the fi rst six games of the year at guard.Lavulo, who is 28 years old, is one of the oldest players in college football. The only players older are 32-year-old Texas long-snapper Nate Boyer and North Texas defen-sive end Brandon McCoy, who has Lavulo by a month and a half.

CAREER DAY FOR CODY AGAINST AIR FORCENevada junior quarterback Cody Fajardo set career marks in completions (38), at-tempts (54) and yards (389) and tied a career mark with three touchdowns in the win over Air Force. Fajardo also ran for 81 yards on just 11 carries with two more scores.Fajardo tallied 470 yards of total off ense and accounted for fi ve touchdowns in the game without a turnover. His 38 completions is tied for the third in single-game history at Nevada (Mike Max-well vs. Toledo in 95) and his 54 attempts is tied for ninth in single-game history. The 38 completions also ranks tied for fi fth in Mountain West single-game history.Fajardo went over the 2,000 yard mark in rushing for his career. He is the second Nevada quarterback to hit that mark (Colin Kaepernick, 2007-10).He also went over the 5,000-yard mark in passing for his career. He is the 10th Ne-vada quarterback to hit that mark.He completed his fi rst 12 passes which, combined with eight straight completions to end his last outing (UC Davis), gave him 20 completions in a row at one point. That is the second-longest streak in Mountain West history behind Kellen Moore’s 23 in a row during the 2011 season.

HEKKING IS NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK (SEPT. 21)Junior defensive end Brock Hekking had one of the most dominating defensive performances in a decade against Hawaii and he was honored for his performance by being named the Bronk Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 23. He was also named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week - the fi rst such honor for a Nevada player in 2013.Hekking recorded six tackles (four solo) in the Wolf Pack’s conference victory over Hawai‘i. He had 3.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles, two pass break-ups and one interception (the fi rst of his career). His third-quarter interception led to a Nevada touchdown on the Wolf Pack’s ensuing series and one of his sacks and forced fumbles was returned for a touchdown by Alex Bertrando. Hekking’s three sacks is tied for the most by an FBS player this season (nine players).Hawai‘i had 14 possessions in the game and Hekking ended fi ve of them: third-down tackle that forced a fi eld goal attempt, pass breakup, interception, sack/forced fumble and sack/forced fumble. The performance was reminiscent of that by Jorge Cordova in 2003 at Washington in which Cordova led Nevada to its fi rst victory over a BCS school with a fi ve-sack performance against the Huskies.

1,000th GAMENevada’s week-four game against Hawaii marked the 1,000th game in Nevada his-tory. With the victory, the Wolf Pack improved to 519-448-33 all-time.Nevada’s fi rst game was in 1896 against Belmont, a 70-0 loss. The Pack’s fi rst ever win came in 1898 against Stewart Indian School, a 34-6 win.
