IntroducIng the most InnovatIve altIma ever.Wouldn’t it be cool if just taking an on-ramp gave you an adrenaline rush? Or imagine knowing you’re free and clear before you made that quick lane-change. What if your car could give you all the information you needed, faster? If the design of your seat made long trips feel less so. And you could bring all of your music along for the ride. What if you even got a thumbs-up from the valet as you pulled away from the curb? The next time you get behind the wheel, everything will be different. Because we didn’t just update the Altima, we changed everything about it. All for you. The all-new 2013 Altima.Nissan. Innovation that excites.TM

THE ALL-NEW 2013 ALTIMA®

nissan altima 3.5 sl sedan shown in Pearl White.

TODAY WILL CHANGE THE WAY YOU DRIVE. FOREVER.Whether you’re commuting to work or carving through the scenic route, Altima makes it all feel extraordinary. Its next-generation CVT transmission lets you ride a seamless wave of power – and serves up more kilometres per litre. A new suspension puts you in touch with the road, while new technologies help you take the wheel with more confidence. It’s all of this and more, in a sedan that truly redefines what it means to drive.

Nissan Altima 3.5 SL Sedan shown in Java Metallic.

ZERO-GRAVITy® TEcHNOLOGy FOR cOmFORT THAT’S OuT OF THIS WORLD.Whether you’re embarking on a cross-country road-trip or braving the daily commute, sitting in a car for too long can be fatiguing. To find a solution, Nissan engineers looked to the cosmos where astronauts float weightlessly in zero-gravity conditions.

Zero-gravity® Seats. In the weightlessness of space, humans tend to take a relaxed posture that minimizes stress on the body. To recreate this “neutral posture” when you’re behind the wheel, Nissan designed a new, articulated front seat shape that offers continuous support from the pelvis to the chest, along with seat cushions that flex in response to your unique pressure points. The result is a seat that helps reduce fatigue, for drivers of all sizes.

4-cylinder Engine. Choose the 182 HP 4-cylinder engine and get more than just spirited performance. A new intake system optimizes the opening of intake valves at high rpm to keep the torque curve flat, giving you smooth power while contributing to the best-in-class fuel economy1.

Xtronic CVT® (Continuously Variable Transmission). Say good-bye to fixed gear ratios and hello to a new kind of CVT. In the newest version of our CVT, friction is reduced by up to 40% and the ratio coverage is increased to greater than that of some 8-speed automatics. What does that mean behind the wheel? Better acceleration and fuel consumption, plus performance so smooth, it’s like riding a continuous wave of power.

PUREDRIVE.TM The 2013 Altima wears the PUREDRIVETM badge, just one aspect of Nissan’s commitment to developing more environmentally friendly transportation for all of us.

BEST-IN-CLASS FUEL ECONOMY.1

Extensive refinements to Altima’s 4-cylinder engine and Continuously Variable Transmission help ensure it’s as powerful and fuel-efficient as ever. With best-in-class fuel economy1 and better acceleration than other top-selling midsize sedans,2 you’ll enjoy amazingly smooth power delivery as you breeze past the pump.

gET MORE OF whAT YOU CRAVE.

ACCELERATION ThAT MOVES YOU.What if your daily drive got an adrenaline boost? Altima’s V6 engine not only gives you heart-pumping acceleration, but its Xtronic CVT® features three modes for a more customized driving experience, including paddle shifters for some Formula 1-style action.

V6 Engine. Nissan’s legendary 3.5-litre, 270 HP V6 engine treats you to sports-car like performance and a cool 44 MPG (6.4 L/100 km) highway that keeps you right at home in the carpool lane.3 Part of the engineering magic is Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVVTCS), which means power is always on tap – off the line, or passing – for a ride as thrilling as it is efficient.

Xtronic CVT® with Paddle Shifters. Customize your ride with three modes. Pick Drive for every day, Ds for a sportier “shift” feel, or go hands-on with the paddle shifters. Unique to the V6, the available paddle shifters are mounted right on the steering column, putting precise shifting control at your fingertips. No clutch needed. Just pull a paddle and your “gear” changes on command, giving you an experience that’s the best of both worlds.

Active Understeer Control. This innova-tive technology helps improve control when you take a corner. It reads the cornering situation and, if needed, will imperceptibly brake the appropriate wheel to help you steer through the turn.

Suspension. Altima’s all-new rear multi-link suspension was designed for exceptional agility. You’ll feel it especially in the corners, when the layout of the suspension allows the rear wheels to turn slightly to match the front – giving you the sensation of riding on rails.

Shocks. Altima’s luxury sedan-inspired shocks significantly reduce vibrations for a smooth, flat ride. A rebound spring inside of each shock absorber makes for minimal roughness and more secure cornering, combining great performance with great ride comfort.

TAKING A CORNER WILL NEVER FEEL THE SAME.Wouldn’t it be cool if your car knew when you were cornering – and how to react to your commands? That’s the kind of intuitive response we’ve engineered into every Altima. So you enter a corner with more confidence, and exit with a big grin.

SAY HELLO TOINNOVATION THAT LOOKS OUT FOR YOU.Whether you’re changing lanes on the highway or deftly manoeuvring your way into a parking spot, Altima’s new Safety Shield Technologies take advantage of the rearview camera and act as a second set of eyes, giving you a whole new way to double-check1.

A. Blind Spot Warning. If another vehicle is detected in your blind spot area, an indicator appears in the driver’s or front passenger’s doors and on the Advanced Drive-AssistTM Display. Put your turn signal on, and the indicator flashes with a warning chime to alert you.2

B. Lane Departure Warning. If Altima detects that you are straying from your lane, the Lane Departure Warning system will give both a visual and audible alert. So smart, the system is designed to stop the warnings whenever your turn signal is engaged.3

C. Moving Object Detection. Shift into reverse, and the available next-genera-tion RearView Monitor displays what’s behind you. If it detects something moving by the rear of the vehicle when you’re in reverse, it gives a visual and audible alert. And whenever you want a wider rear view, just push the camera button.1

1 Moving Object Detection cannot completely eliminate blind spots and may not detect every object. MOD operates at vehicle speeds below 5 mph. Always check surroundings before moving vehicle. Not a substitute for proper backing procedures. Always turn to check what is behind you before backing up. 2 The Blind Spot Warning System is not a substitute for proper lane change procedures. The system will not prevent contact with other vehicles or accidents. It may not detect every vehicle or object around you. 3 Lane Departure Warning System operates only when the lane markings are clearly visible on the road. Speed limitations apply. See Owner’s Manual for details.

6D. Brake Assist/EBD. If you need to slam on the brakes, Brake Assist senses how hard you’re braking, and if it senses you are in an emergency, it will automatically help to apply maximum braking force. Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) is designed to send extra force to the rear brakes when it senses additional weight in the back.Brake Override Technology. Like every Nissan since 2005, Altima comes standard with Brake Override Technology. It’s designed to help slow down your vehicle and bring it to a safe stop in an emer-gency by overriding accelerator input and reducing engine power when the accelerator and brake are applied simultaneously. E/F. Tire Pressure Monitoring System with individual tire pressure display and Easy-Fill Tire Alert. When Altima senses your tire pressure is low, an icon illuminates on your dash to indicate which tire needs filling. You can even check your tire pressure in the Advanced Drive-AssistTM Display. When you go to fill it, Easy-Fill Tire Alert means there’s no more guessing. Just fill with air until a friendly beep of the horn signals that you’ve reached the right pressure.3

CONFIDENCE AT EVERY TURN.We’re not just looking out for your safety, we’re taking a stand. In addition to a comprehensive range of active and passive safety features, we’re incorporating Brake Override Technology ahead of others in the industry. And our Snug Kids® Fit Guide, which promotes the correct use of child restraint systems, is the only one of its kind. 1 Inch Usage

STANDARD AIRBAGS

1 Airbags are only a supplemental restraint system; always wear your seat belt. Even with the occupant-classification sensor, rear-facing child restraints should not be placed in the front-passenger’s seat. Also, in addition to any other requirement of applicable law, all children 12 and under should ride in the rear seat properly secured in child restraints, booster seats, or seat belts according to their size. Airbags will only inflate in certain accidents; see your Owner’s Manual for more details. Inflated airbags shown for illustration purposes only, actual coverage area may differ. Airbags deflate after deployment. 2VDC, which should remain on when driving except when freeing the vehicle from mud or snow, cannot prevent accidents due to abrupt steering, carelessness, or dangerous driving techniques. Always drive safely. 3 Vehicle must be on for Easy-Fill Tire Alert to operate. 4Certain remote functions require compatible phone, not included with vehicle. GET ThE All-NEw AlTIMA ThE wAY YOU wANT IT.First, choose from either the 4-cylinder or V6 engine, then select your trim level and be sure to check out the available packages. There are several options, so take a look and find the one that feels the most “you.” No matter what you pick, you’ll get a car that was designed with you in mind – the most innovative Altima ever.

A. Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC). A slick spot in a corner can suddenly have you going in a direction you didn’t want. VDC, also known as stability control, monitors your steering and braking to help you maintain your steered path under certain conditions by reducing engine output and/or applying brake pressure to specific wheels.2

B. Traction Control System (TCS). Altima’s power is wasted if all it does is spin the tires, so when the standard Traction Control System senses drive-wheel spin, it responds by reducing throttle or applying brake pressure to help maintain traction.C. Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). The standard ABS pumps the brakes faster than you possibly can in panic-braking situations to help prevent wheel lockup, so you can continue to steer around obstacles while braking heavily.

AVDC BTCS CABS DEBD FE

Nissan Advanced Airbag System. Dual-stage supplemental front airbags adjust their inflation rate, depending on the severity of impact and seat belt usage. If your front passenger seat is empty, an occupant-classification sensor deactivates that airbag. Standard front seat-mounted side impact supplemental airbags are built into the seats, so they move with you as you adjust your seat. Above, standard roof-mounted curtain side impact supplemental airbags (with rollover sensor) provide enhanced head protection for front and rear outboard seat occupants.1

Snug Kids.® Nissan safety engineers have dedicated thousands of hours to evaluating hundreds of child restraints in Nissans. The result: An industry first, The Snug Kids® Child Safety Seat Fit Guide. This guide lists child seats that fit the rear seats of Nissan vehicles, as well as offers invaluable tips on correct installation. Look for the latest Fit Guide at Nissan.ca/owners/en.
