Also, many thanks to the Notre Dame Parents, Students, Alumni, Faculty and Staff for their hard work and support. Bid Board The bid board is a fun new way to bid during the silent auction. There is one select table of premium items that you won’t find on your BidPal. To bid on these fabulous items you simply tell the Bid Board Captain your bid number, and the dollar amount of your bid, and they record it on the board. As long as your bid number is on the board, you are the high bidder. When a higher bid comes in, the Bid Board Captain replaces the bid number and current bid for that item. The Bid Board will close before dinner, and those items will be SOLD! Its quick, its easy, and its fun! Be sure to stop by the Bid Board during cocktails!

Guaranteed Bid If you REALLY want an item in the Silent Auction you can have it . . . guaranteed!

It’s a guaranteed way to take home that silent auction item of your dreams. If you really want an item, simply click on the Guaranteed Bid price, and the item is yours. No more bids will be accepted for that item . . . it is SOLD! There are few guarantees in life, so leave it to Notre Dame College Prep to supply one.

Houses or Hotels Game It is $25 to play the Houses or Hotels Game. Students are walking around selling the game cards, and you must have a game card to play. The game is played at the beginning of the Live Auction. The auctioneer will announce the game rules and those who are eligible to play may stand and follow his instructions. We count on you to make and stick with a selection of house or hotel before the coin toss. “Heads” means Houses are the winners, and “Tails” means Hotels are the winners. Finalists will be asked to come to the stage for the final rounds, and the winner will receive a Gift Certificate for a Weekend Getaway, including dinner and a live show, at the Mariott Lincolnshire, valued at $400.

Auction Rules 1. Use only the bid number assigned to you to place a bid! Your number is your identification. All bids are final!

2. We ask that everyone register a credit card upon check-in to the event. Payment by the successful bidder will be charged to the credit card registered, or may be made by cash, check or another credit card at the end of the auction. Checks should be made payable to Notre Dame College Prep. Payment in full the evening of April 20, 2013 is mandatory. Any bidder not making arrangements for payment in full at the auction’s check-out area by 12:00 midnight the night of the auction may forfeit his/her right to purchase the item at the discretion of the auction committee.

3. Items may be picked up at the auction tables by exhibiting a paid receipt. When an item has not been displayed, the purchaser will receive a certificate for the promised gift. Items may be removed only by Table Captains and only by exhibiting a paid receipt to the Table Captain at the table.

4. All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds of items by the donors or by Notre Dame College Prep, unless donor is unable to fulfill his/her obligation as described in the catalogue. Please do not ask the donors for exchanges, substitutions or refunds!

5. Unless otherwise specified, all auction items and services must be used within one year from the date of the auction. Dates and times are to be arranged at the mutual convenience of, and by and between, the donor and purchaser. Security and cleaning deposits, when required by the donor, must be paid directly to the donor and are not included in your bid.

6. All auction items must be removed by midnight, Saturday, April 20, 2013, unless other arrangements have been made with an auction official. Notre Dame College Prep does not assume responsibility for items left by the buyer. Special arrangements for pickup or delivery (at purchaser’s expense) of large items must be made at the time of payment.

7. Notre Dame College Prep has endeavored to catalogue and describe the items and services correctly, but everything is sold “as is.” Certain auction items and/or services may have restrictive use or other qualifications which may affect value, application or use thereof to bidder. Many items such as the vacation homes and condos are non-transferable. Purchasers are bound by the precise restrictions of the donors. The terms are not negotiable. Please read carefully the specifications and limitations.

8. Notre Dame College Prep makes no express or implied warranties or representations of any kind or nature with respect to the property or services sold. In no event shall it be responsible for the correctness of description, nor deemed to have made any representation or warranty of description, authenticity, or condition of property or services sold; no statement in the catalogue, made at the sale or in the bill of sale or invoice shall be deemed such a warranty of liability. By his or her purchase, the purchaser waives any claims for liability against Notre Dame College Prep, the auctioneer, and the donor of the property or service, and neither Notre Dame College Prep, the auctioneer, nor the donor is responsible for any personal injuries or damages to property that may result from the utilization of property or services sold.

9. Values set forth opposite items being auctioned are donor’s estimates and are not warranted by Notre Dame College Prep or the auctioneer for tax purposes or for general value.

Live Auction

1. In order to enter a bid, you must raise your bidding card high and attract the attention of the auctioneer. Each bid legally obligates the bidder to pay his/her bid price in full, once acknowledged by the auctioneer.

2. You may use the services of the bid spotters to attract attention, but your bid is not official until recognized by the auctioneer.

3. If the auctioneer determines that an opening bid or any subsequent bid is not commensurate with the value of the item(s) offered, he may reject the same and withdraw the item(s) from sale, and if, having acknowledged an opening bid, he decides that an advance thereafter is not of sufficient amount he may reject the advance. The auctioneer retains the right to add or delete any item. The auctioneer reserves the right to announce conditions of sale at any time. In the event of any dispute, the auctioneer will have sole and final discretion in these matters. The high bidder will be acknowledged by the auctioneer.

4. When an item is announced “SOLD”, title to the item and/or service will pass to the highest bidder who, thereupon, assumes full risk and responsibility thereof.

Silent Auction

During registration, participants received a handheld BidPal device, preloaded with every auction item. (You have the option to load BidPal onto your smart phone.) The BidPal contains the item description, opening bid amount, bid increments, a photo of the item, and donor information. Guests are encouraged to browse the silent auction area and view the items on their personal BidPal. Bids may be made from anywhere, and at any time during the silent auction.

2. No bidding will be allowed after the silent auction tables close.

3. The Auction Committee will act as final authority in any bidding dispute.

Art, Music, Dramatics, Science, Litera-ture, Language, Math Concepts, Motor Development, and laughter play a major role in our daily program.
