The Brumley FamilyBryce, Kari, Brooke, Skeeter & Don

We proudly invite you all to our Fifth Annual Red Carpet Event. We may not have as many heifers to offer, but we have always focused on “QUALITY NOT QUANTITY!” This is a very special sale offering with many of these heifers having full sibs in produc-tion. The Lot 2 female is out of a first calf heifer, who is a past Red Carpet sale feature. We strongly believe in each and every one of these lots as they come from the HEART of our program. We offer to you our very best, with NOTHING held back! We have worked hard to stack cow families, use bulls that not only produce “show cattle” but go on to produce females that will work in any operation and be the donor kind. We are proud to say that we consistently raise females that work in the SHOW RING and most importantly in the PASTURE. On behalf of the entire Brumley Family and our sale partners, please come join us for a walk on the Red Carpet and choose a heifer that comes backed with greatness! You will be proud to have your picture taken at the backdrop with any of these heifers, and our promise to you…they will go on to be great cows!

Don, Skeeter, Kari, Brooke and BryceWe retain the right to two flushes on each female at our expense and the buyers convenience unless otherwise stated.

• We said we would offer our best, folks here she is…• This heifer has it all, and then some!• It isn’t often you can find one this long bodied, and still have that sought after rib

shape and depth.• She is perfect in her hip design and has that perfect hind leg. She is big boned, stout,

and moves freely with enough flex off of both ends.• Her full sibs, BF 743 Burlesque 092X ET and BF 743 It’s My Time 093X ET, made

their way to the backdrop many times, and then made their way to the donor pen.• “Flirtatious” needs no introduction, and has proven herself to be no fluke. She herself

is a multiple National Champion, and she has gone on to raise National Champions. She not only put herself in the donor pen, she has daughters that are some of the best cows in the pasture and in the donor pen. “About Time” has worked well in our program. His daughters go on to make cows with nice udders, and most importantly they produce. He comes from an operation based on cow power, and performance. Bottom line, there is no question, the pedigree is stacked.

• “2112” is destined for greatness. She combines everything we strive for a heifer to be, and she knows it! She is special, and she has the pieces and potential to replace her mother.

• She will do her own talking, come see her for yourself.• Class winner at the 2013 JNHE • Owned with Bar 1 Ranch, OR• Selling 1/2 Embryo Interest.

• Wow Factor!• Oh the possibilities…• “290Z” has so much look, and that perfect neck everyone loves

to see in a Hereford.• She still combines all of her look with enough power. She is stout

enough, and is sound and wide based as she travels away from you.• Has loads of rib shape and depth.• A heifer that you just can’t look away from once you see her.• Raised on a 2-year old that sets the bar for a beautiful individual.• Take note of the outcross pedigree on the top side of this one’s

pedigree, and on the bottom side she is out of a “Flirtatious” daughter.• This one is going places! Don’t miss the opportunity! • Selling 1/2 Embryo Interest

• We have made the decision to keep a female from this flush, and you will decide who we keep!

• This flush produced four heifer calves and all four have made the sale! We are holding nothing back.

• These two heifers have as much potential as anything in the sale.• Either of these heifers can make it big time in the show ring, and then come

home to make great cows.• “3104” has the advantage out of the gate, being further along. She is stout

made, big boned, and has lots of eye appeal.• “3109” is the youngest in the group, but should not be underestimated.

She is moderate, dark red and short marked, with loads of rib. She is a powerful individual with lots of style.

• Who will you choose?• Owned with Bar 1 Ranch, OR.• Terms to be announced, call for details.

• A special individual!• “303A” is a donor in the making. She has what it takes to put money

in the bank, in every way you evaluate this female.• “710T” is a female that never misses, but this heifer calf landed her a

spot in the donor pen. Take note “710T” is a polled Pure Gold daughter out of the Elm Lodge 24 Karat cow that started it all for us. Bailout is one of the most popular sires in the industry. We have used him a lot, and are very happy with the calves. This heifer rises to the top in this sire group; she has the cow look everyone desires, with enough eye appeal to take her to the show ring.

• We strive for cow power. Making a show heifer is just the added benefit. “303A” has the pieces it takes to make a cow, but her pres-ence, added dimension down her top and through her lower quarter, her big foot and soundness is what makes this heifer the real deal.

• We don’t offer up females like this every day. If you are looking for cow power with all the added benefits…look no further!

cows in the pasture. She may have earned herself a spot in the donor pen as well.

• If you are looking for a donor prospect with an outcross pedigree...look no further!!

• Take a look at this one on paper, that in itself should make your mouth water.• The heifer herself is no disappointment either.• "301A" has won the hearts of many with her eye appeal, and that donor in

the making look. Smoothe and complete in her make-up, with tremendous amount of rib shape and depth of flank.

• “8504” joined the Brumley Farms donor battery last fall, and boy are we glad she did! She has that perfect udder P606 staples on all of his daughters, and she has put her best into this heifer calf.

• “301A” is sired by the 2013 Supreme Champion Hereford, “Time’s a Wastin’”• Her future is bright!• Be sure to look her up sale day.

• A moderate, dark red female that has caught the attention of many.• Her mother “361” Was the 2005 Denver Champion Female. “361”

is a cow making machine. She herself is one of the heaviest milking cows on the ranch, and all of her daughters have perfect udders, and they milk heavy and always bring in nice calves. “361” not only produces females but she produces sons that have made herd bulls for our operation as well as many other operations. “361” is the real deal when it comes to power, performance, and mothering ability.

• Brood cow potential here.• “7179” is a good uddered, moderate, big ribbed cow that never misses.

All three of her daughters have made the sale over the past few years, and it is against better judgment that this heifer is being offered.

• “1107” didn’t give us very many heifer calves, but the few we got are exceptional. Take note, his mother is the great “Achiever” daughter.

Dear Fellow Breeders, This is our fifth consecutive year to host this wonderful event. Five years ago we started this event not just as a stage to help promote and make available our genetics, but also to celebrate the year that we’ve had and come together with great friends. Since last year Pheasant Trek has undergone many changes. The entire herd has been downsized and the remaining individuals still present in the herd are the best of the best. It was a difficult process as we truly value each and every individual but it was time to do so as life for us has changed and time is no longer of the essence. We may not have the numbers but we do have the quality and that is what our main focus is. As you can see here, we have only four lots to offer this year. This offer-ing includes our entire spring born heifer division which includes direct progeny from three of our current donor dams. The history behind each of these individuals includes a proven record not only in the show ring but also in the commercial cattle setting and production in general. In most instances, our calves will out produce and simply “out do” the great mothers that made them. Every generation seems to be better and that is what we are most proud of at Pheasant Trek. Even better, we have still managed to maintain a completely genetic defect free herd, even after the recent announcement of DD in the Angus breed. This change in direction has been difficult but in turn, it has made it easier for anyone wanting to participate in the market this fall. Each lot we are offering is from the best of the best, so in turn, you can’t go wrong with any of them. The combination of the cow families that we have built upon with the leading sires of the Angus industry have created beautiful individuals with the history behind them that will assure they will work. Genetically defect clean, proven and all in a phenotypically exceptional package; only four but they’re packed with everything any Angus herd could use. Along with the four Angus we are offering there are many great Hereford females originating from three of the more dominating Hereford herds of the West. We welcome back Brumley Farms and welcome two new programs; Bar One and Schohr Herefords. Along with our fellow sale partners, we welcome you and feel that you will not only find what you’re looking for at the Red Carpet Event, but also have a great time doing so. Thank you for your interest and if you have any questions, please contact us anytime. The Danekas Family

We are proud and delighted to participate in the 2013 ”Red Carpet Event” production sale, and we thank the Brumley and the Danekas families for inviting us to participate. We think we have a strong group of heif-ers to offer for sale, out of proven donor cows and sired by some of the top bulls in the industry -Online, 88X, Cracker Jack, Outcross, and Legacy. The bred heifer (2319) out of Sassy and the heifer calf (A16) out of Mae catch everyone’s eye when they visit the pasture. All the heifers are very eye appealing and are destined to be top flight mother cows. We became Hereford breeders relatively late in life. We were professors at the University of Oregon but we became interested in purchasing rural property. The particular piece of land that caught our eye came with the stricture that we run a cattle herd if we were going to build a home on the site. Neither Karen nor I had any experience with cattle but we decided to embrace the adventure and have run the ranch for 17 years now. It has been quite a learning experience … and a lot of fun, too. Our university colleagues are a little mystified about what we’re doing, but we have no second thoughts and thoroughly enjoy the life we’ve chosen. We look forward to seeing all of you at the sale on October 19. It will be our pleasure to show you the heif-ers we are offering. George and Karen Sprague

Dear friends,

We are proud to be a part of this years Red Carpet Event. We have decided to sell what we think is this years best two heifers out of the E.T. calves. These heifers have been quite popular with visitors to the ranch this summer. I am confident in saying that both heifers will be competitive in the show ring but they will also be great cows. Feel free to call or come by early to see the heifers.
