Tax information:1) For tax purposes, check with your own accountant. However, in most instances, goods and services purchased

at the auction are not tax-deductible. (The donor can deduct out-of-pocket expenses for his/her donation. Personal services that add to the value of the donation are not deduct-ible by the donor.)2) In the eyes of the IRS, an auction sets the fair market value for an item. In the event that the purchase price exceeds the fair market value as shown in the auction booklet, the excess may be used as a tax-deductible contribution to the school.
