CHAMPIONSHIP RULES: State championships are open to anyone who has a current annual USA Cycling license and are either US citizens or Permanent Resident Aliens. One-day licenses will not be available for championship races. Only those that have the SCNCA listed on their license can win the title. Riders who, at any time in the current year have been members of Men’s UCI Pro Teams and Professional Continental Teams, may not enter these races. The following are the SCNCA championship CATEGORIES. 1. Junior Men; 10-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18 2. Junior Women: 10-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18 3. Elite Men: Cat 1-2, Cat 3, Cat 4 * Cat 5 men are not recognized as a championship category. 4. Elite Women: Cat 1-3, Cat 4 5. Master Women: 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50+ 6. Master Men: 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65+ 7. Men's Single Speed * 8. Women's Single Speed *

*A Single Speed is any type of bicycle possessing only one rear cog (freewheel) and only one front chain ring and with no means of altering the gear ratio in any way during the race. There must be one brake for each wheel. Fixed gear bikes are not permitted in mass start events CYCLO-CROSS RACING AGE: A rider’s racing age for the 2013-14 Cyclo-cross Season is the 'racing age' the year in which the CX World Championships take place which is February, 2014. Basically your racing age for the entire cyclo-cross season running September 2013 through January 2014 is your age as of 12/31/2014. THE COURSE IS OPEN FOR RIDER INSPECTION 8:00am on race day and in between waves through out the day. Racers may enter course PAST the finish line when instructed to do so by the chief official and shortly after the final race wave winner has crossed the line. Please do not pass riders racing on course and do not cross the finish line while another race is in progress as often the timing and scoring is still live for the wave in progress.

Cyclo-cross or hard tail mountain bikes (no bar ends) handle best for the course and obstacles. Mountain Bike pedals and shoes are recommended. This event is held under USA Cycling Permit rain or shine. No refunds. 2013 USAC rules apply. www.USAcycling.org

Warming up on the Course Once the last rider has crossed the line in the current active wave, the race officials will allow riders to “pre-ride” the course to become familiar with route and obstacles. Please enter the course past the finish line and do not pass or enter in front of riders who are still racing on the course. As in the past, while pre-riding do not cross the finish line while the timing system is running and do not pass active racers on course. There will always be enough time to complete one lap before the next race starts. Once the next race has started, warming up on the course is not allowed. Helmets must be worn at all times when riding your bicycle.
