ESSAYS

Essay 1

We have a social club 'Arpan' to help the underprivileged. We have adopted a nearby village

'Balalpur', where we go weekly and teach kids, spread goodies among leprosy hit people, and on

festivals we arrange a get together in the locality. 'Arpan' is yet not a NGO so to reach out to larger

number of groups we have thought of being collaborated with a NGO in Lucknow, 'Kartavya'. I was

in the drafting committee in 'Arpan', so I had to complete all the paper work formalities. But it

appears the real challenge surfaced after that. The faculties in charge were very lethargic and

everytime they disregarded our form on the basis that it was not up to mark. We asked them for the

problems in our application, but all they replied is your reason to be collaborated with a NGO is not

up to mark. This carried on for 4 months. We got no guidance and things couldnt move ahead. Till

today the paper work is being dragged in loops but we have not given up, they will have to give us

a chance. After a period of about one year, our persistence did bring results, as our Director, Dr.

J.P.Gupta did notice our work and he was really happy to know about it. He believes in us and our

ideas and is very keen to collaborate us with a NGO. This was just the first phase, we know what

lies ahead is not going to be easy. But if it wouldnt have been this hard it wouldnt have been worth

it!

Essay 2

The satisfaction of being a part of a change is what motivates me to join TFI. Sometimes, in life's

journey we really work hard to make everything work out on academic and social front yet deep

inside there is a question posed, 'Did you make a difference'? The uber joy in teaching, in impartingyour share of knowledge to others those who need it is a joy which reaches deep to one's

conscience. To be a part of this overwhelming revolution is what drives me to join your fellowship

program. I would be able to claim myself and my students as successful in short term if I am able to

make them love to study. I want them to yearn to seek knowledge. And in long term I would claim

us as a success story if I see them pursuing their desire to the end. I think I would be able to

achieve it because even in my life I never realised the importance of knowledge at once. It took me

years to realise that what I am getting is more valuable than any other thing in this world. I think I

would leave no stone unturned in showing them the power of knowledge. They need motivation,

guidance and above all patience. Once I get to drive their hearts into the subject then there is no

looking back.
