Spring is here and this week feels as if summer is here too!

We had a good time painting flowerpots at the April meeting thanks to Susan

and Mona and many more fun projects are planned for the upcoming meet-

ings.

Are you ready for Bingo night? Everyone always seems to enjoy this event.

Please support the chapter by purchasing Bingo cards and have an evening of

fun with friends. Who knows… you just might win! I will miss the meeting

this month. While you are playing Bingo, I will be in my first class of the

week at the SDP Conference in St. Charles, Illinois. I will miss you all but am

looking forward to the convention.

Speaking of SDP Conference – isn’t it fabulous to know it will be in San

Diego next year?!! The facility looks wonderful. We have a year to plan and

save. I want to see lots of Poinsettias there in 2014.

In addition to our own, there are several local paint-ins and seminars in our

area in May and June. And our summer pot-luck/barbeque will be here before

we know it (June 10). Please sign up and support the new teachers we have

scheduled this year for the Poinsettia Chapter. We need a minimum of 12 reg-

istered to make it worthwhile for these teachers to travel here to teach

their projects. We have Sandy LeFlore coming to teach and as a favor to our

chapter we are able to charge our normal price of only $20.00, but low sign-

ups mean dipping into the treasury to meet expenses. So, please bring your

checkbooks to the meeting and register for as many classes as you can.

Please get your painted items to Karen or Lorelle as soon as possible. The

Thousand Oaks library invited the chapter to display our work for the month

of May. Set up will begin May 1. This is a great time to attract interest in

decorative painting and our chapter. Be sure to stop in sometime during the

month to see the display.

Don’t forget to register for the Mystery

Paint-In in June. The spaces are filling up fast…

Get those brushes dirty – paint something!
