• Sept 22-26 Buhutu Song Writing (Ipouli village) 51 songs transcribed from MP3 audio files 12 New songs composed (add to 15 old set, 25 from 2012, 37 yet to transcribe from MP3 files = 140 songs +/- a few duplicates, PTL! Enough for a preliminary edition of a Buhutu songbook!

Ongoing  progress  with  Buhutu  Scriptures    • During the rest of October the Buhutu team did VE's (Vernacular to English, Back Translations)

of additional passages from Leviticus and Numbers, plus 1 & 2 Kings, and prepped more passages from Exodus.

• On November 9th one of our more experienced Buhutu Translators Matiematie Igayoma was ordained as a pastor in the Kwato Church of Papua New Guinea at his Tamonau parish.

• On November 24 thru 27 the Buhutu team (with Russ already back in the States) did village checking of Kings and Exodus passages at Gabite'u village.

Matiematie Igayoma's ordination processional on Sept. 9th, 2014 at Tamonau Kwato Church

Gelani Reiley from Gabite'u village, is a new

Translators Training Course [TTC1] participant

from the 2014 intake

The additional passages prepared in October and November (plus hopefully added chapters from Genesis) are scheduled to be consultant-checked in May 2015 - the last passages for our Buhutu Mini-Bible. Meanwhile the Buhutu team works on the Buhutu songbook, on prepping added Buhutu Gospels for consultant checking, and on drafting the remaining minor epistle passages for checking. Having completed the linguistics write-ups for Buhutu, Russ is now prepping nearly 6,000 entries in the Buhutu Dictionary for electronic publication and on "cleaning up" the VE's [Back Translations] still needing checking in May 2015.

Total It Up in January 2015 In January 2015, Russ is scheduled to be on staff again for the one week Total it Up at a the Lake Retreat Conference Center near Kent, Washington. This one week experience is designed to enable participants to explore the work of Bible Translation and related ministries in a supportive environment as they seek God's

will in their lives for possible future service. Our Buhutu Discovery Intern, Meilani Rita, took part in this TIU program in January of 2013.

(This year's dates are actually December 29, 2014 - January 2, 2015) Please see the attached flyer for details, and feel free to contact us, if interested
