MSABC Mission Statement The Mining Suppliers Association of B.C. (MSABC) is a non-profit association, affiliated with the Mining Association of British Columbia.
Formed in 1986, it comprises suppliers, contractors and consultants to the BC mining industry who are committed to promoting the sustainability of this valuable resource. Recognizing the importance of mining to the economic well-being of the province, the mission of the association is to promote the development of a sustainable mining industry in BC by “Building a Better Future for Mining.”
To achieve this mission, the Association:
1. Promotes MSABC as the authoritative voice of BC Suppliers, Contractors and Consultants to the mining industry.
2. Is represented on the board of The Mining Association of British Columbia (MABC) and is a full partner in the campaign for positive public awareness of the industry.
3. Offers expertise and active participation in the development of governmental policy affecting the industry.
4. Is a full partner with MABC in the development and funding of activities designed to positively encourage public and political support of the industry, including:
i. MineralsEd –BC’s Mineral Education Resources Program;
ii. Mining Week – the annual province-wide celebration of mining’s contribution to BC’s economy;
iii. Mining for Miracles – the industry’s campaign for BC Children’s Hospital. Since 1988, the industry has raised over $20 million.;
iv. Numerous industry events and programs for government representatives, mining engineering students, the general public and our own members.
The future direction of our industry relies on the active involvement of its suppliers, contractors and consultants. It is the right thing to do.

Message From the MSABC Chair This 2014-15 MSABC Membership Directory contains up-to-date contact information for companies that provide supplies and services to mining operations in B.C. and abroad. Each of these companies joined MSABC to enhance their profile within the mining community and to play their part in the mining industry’s efforts to promote the growth of responsible mining in B.C.
MSABC and its over 200 member companies continued to play an active role in supporting mining industry advocacy initiatives in 2014, including Mining Week events in communities across the province and the successful 2014 “Mining Day at the Legislature” initiative. Through MSABC’s robust membership base and networking events our member companies have also continued to raise substantial funds for mining industry charities of choice, such as the BC Children’s Hospital Mining for Miracles campaign and MineralsEd.
We will continue to work closely with our partners at MABC, AMEBC and other industry associations over the year ahead to strengthen support for responsible mining and ensure mining suppliers from across our province stand shoulder to shoulder with producers in the effort to open new mines in B.C., to the benefit of all British Columbians.
We look forward to seeing each of you at various industry functions across our province in support of our member company and operating partners’ efforts to spread the message that Mining Matters.

Message From the MABC Chair The publication of this Directory marks the 28th year of the Mining Association of BC’s (MABC) partnership with MSABC. The strength of this partnership was evident from the series of successful industry initiatives and events this year that were made possible due to the close collaboration between our associations.
As a lead sponsor of our industry’s 2014 lobby day in Victoria, Mining Day at the Legislature, MSABC provided strategic insights for the miners and suppliers on delegation teams. The regional presence and diversity of suppliers’ businesses helped the teams explain to government officials the importance of our sector for workers in many communities across B.C. During another outstanding Mining Week this year, MSABC’s broad membership base helped ensure that regional Mining Week events were well attended. As in previous years, many of those 2014 events were also sponsored directly by MSABC member companies – thank you for all you do!
During Mining Week I was honoured to present Dave Sharples with MABC's 2013 Mining Person of the Year award in recognition of his longstanding personal commitment to the mining industry and his amazing efforts for kids through Mining for Miracles. As a generous and gregarious supporter, Dave personifies the values of the MSABC, MABC and the entire mining industry. Congratulations again Dave!

Town of Port McNeill
Port McNeill is a town in the North Island region of Vancouver Island, BC, with a population of 2,623 (2006). Located on Vancouver Island's northeast shore on Queen Charlotte Strait, it was originally a base camp for loggers. Port McNeill became a settlement in 1936. The town was named after Captain William Henry McNeill of the Hudson's Bay Company. February 2007 marked the opening day of Orca Sand & Gravel LP, the largest sand and gravel quarry in the northern hemisphere. Material is shipped via 70,000 tonne container ships to ports in California and Hawaii and via 7000 tonne barges to Vancouver.
